I don't think there's any question how the Chiefs prioritized their offseason.

And again, its due in large part to the success of the offense last season. I suspect they believed Mahomes demonstrated that he can elevate the offense with merely passable weapons as long as he was healthy/protected.

So they prioritized cap on the OL rather than WR.

Nothing earth-shattering here.

Right, but that’s different than saying there is no $$$ to pay WR’s simply because of Mahomes’ contract.

That's no different. They can't pay everyone. They figured they'd keep Mahomes upright instead of giving him more weapons. Mahomes' contract is a big reason why they couldn't upgrade both.

I just don't get how the concept is so hard to grasp. I mean I get they don't want to blame Mahomes, but I'd rather he be the reason than anything else, because he's the one I have the most faith in to get back to where he needs to be playing.

They don't care, they prefer to tell you they "told you so" in regards to the WRs, even if the Chiefs have to fail for them to do so.

That's the most important thing, hence why the Chiefs are 7-2, currently in 1st place, and they're so miserable.

They had nothing at either tackle spot. Over spending a little bit to immediately lock down RT/fill one tackle spot, at the start of FA and have a plan B at LT was probably worth it.

In fairness they were willing to give Tyreek $22m and were aggressive in trying to trade for (and ultimately pay for) AJ brown. They were willing to do it, but they're not gonna panic and get a guy they don't want or overpay them. I think when the right person comes along they will consider it. Though with what we are seeing with rice we might be able to temper what we need. We still need another piece but staying aggressive in the draft is a good option too or you think more secondary market vs primary. I still think the wr market is set to drop massively in the coming years now that the qb market is finally priced in
