Let's talk about the Miami Dolphins
Here is my $500,000 question on this game.

Will Spags and Co play it straight and keep their powder dry for the playoffs?

Last season the Chiefs defense (and maybe Andy, don't recall) kept things very vanilla when they went to Cincy.

They lost that battle, but won the war, because the defensive wrinkles Spags wanted to use against the Bengals were unveiled in the AFC Championship and held their offense at bay just enough for gimpy Mahomes to drag us over the finish line late.

Will Spags come into this game guns blazing and try to take out the Dolphins early this season? OR will he keep his cards hidden for the real season?

There are no elite defenses in the NFL.. The rules won't allow it.. We have put clown shoes on so called great defenses in the Mahomes era... Our defense isn't so special that it can't be had.. Sundays game maybe the game we give up more than 21.. But I think we keep up and will win..

Great equalizer = injuries (or have some of you forgotten the horrific TB SB?)

Bolton is a top 3 NFL LB.
Gay is top 10-15.
Tranquil is top 20.

All three have been banged up last few weeks. That is tough, especially when facing an explosive offense.

Achane being out and Mostert being limited in practice evens things out. If Miami has to rely on the passing game, we are actually in a better position. Our DL and secondary are healthy, and really REALLY good. Degraded second level is a problem against the run and short crossing patterns. Hopefully Spags adjusts a bit and cools it with the zone blitzes. I would hate to see Karlaftis dropping back in a zone with Waddle and or Hill on short crosses....fuuuuck that would suck.

Who said anything about throwing out weeks? how about the basic understanding that teams evolve over the course of the season (usually, sometimes they devolve or just stagnate, of course), and that whatever JAX was in Week 2 is not who they are now in Week 9? No? Too much for you?

But whatever.


let's take last season, KC vs. IND. Since both before and after that game KC seemed to play at a much higher level, at the end of the season, or even at the end of Week 9, I'd feel comfortable throwing that result out. At least the final score part of it. All the other stats Idk; I'd have to actually look and see if there was any useful info to be had.
