Let's talk about the Miami Dolphins

Here is my $500,000 question on this game.

Will Spags and Co play it straight and keep their powder dry for the playoffs?

Last season the Chiefs defense (and maybe Andy, don't recall) kept things very vanilla when they went to Cincy.

They lost that battle, but won the war, because the defensive wrinkles Spags wanted to use against the Bengals were unveiled in the AFC Championship and held their offense at bay just enough for gimpy Mahomes to drag us over the finish line late.

Will Spags come into this game guns blazing and try to take out the Dolphins early this season? OR will he keep his cards hidden for the real season?

Have you forgotten about the '70's Steelers?
Course that was before free agency, but 4 Super Bowl titles in 5 years is hard to beat.

80's Niners
90's Cowboys

All had a pretty special 5 years.

Mahomes threw for 425 and 4 touchdowns a couple weeks ago and that's about where the Dolphins defense ranks... and it could be much like last year when everything was perfectly fine a week after the Colts loss when they put up 40 against the Bucs.

Last week was craptastic, but I don't feel like they're in 2021 territory by a long shot unless of course it continues.... it was just one really shitty game.

Sucks we're so far into the season and don't really have a great handle on where the defense is at, considering the schedule has been garbage, and now they're hurt just as we get out of this Sept/Oct preseason schedule bullshit.

Even if we drop this game it's hardly a death sentence. We go on the bye, regroup and refocus for Eagles on MNF then we get the Raiders and GB. That 9 wins then Buff comes to town. Then Pat's and Faid again. 11 wins in the bag before Cinci and Chargers.

And none of those runs will compare to the Chiefs.

Prior to Michael McDaniel, I haven’t been truly repulsed by an NFL coach since Shanarat. Something about McDaniel’s smug beta demeanor really rubs me the wrong way. The fact that he is part of the (Kyle) Shanahan coaching tree adds to my disdain for him. Seeing the Chiefs destroy the phins would be a regular season highlight for me. Seeing him get bitch-slapped by one of his players would a nice cherry on top. But I’ll take the Chiefs win. Betting large on the Chiefs & the spread this weekend.

Yeah, and I don't mean to understate how bad it was last weekend... I kept watching just because you have to assume they'll figure it out, but that was painful enough that there was zero chance I was catching SNF or even MNF.... completely done with shitty football for a few days.

After 2021 though, nothing surprises me week to week... if they can get out of that WTF funk (and seemed to be out of it a couple times just to get back into it), anything is possible.

Hoping they have a few things up their sleeves this weekend and after the loss
+ HFA implications, I could see them treating this as you'd wish they treated every game.

This is up there with the Buffalo and Cincy games as the biggest games of the season.

I think we need to win this week as Cincy is hitting their groove. They killed the Whiners... Burrow completed a ridiculous number of passes in a row without an incompletion. I'm sure the Pat will be feeling better and hopefully the offense will wake up!
