Like I said, I’d be OK with it if it meant cutting Moore outright. Other than that, I just don’t think it’d be a great move.
The right move would have been signing Hopkins and letting him do the heavy lifting with Kelce while our Rookies learned from a Pro-Bowl vet and came along slowly.

But Veach had other plans?

Juju was more reliable than Rice but Rice is far more explosive. I think that’s a fair trade off when transitioning to a new #1.

I think Rice just needs to be fed more.

Yeah it’s a total Hail Mary type move. I just think it’s an option to consider. It feels low cost, low risk. But one of the only realistic options if we need a quick bandaid that can contribute right away.

I love Mahomes, but this is the truth. If you watch the All-22 he's not pulling the trigger on guys with a step on the defender(yes, that is separation and considered open in the NFL). Yesterday, he had guys open on 3rd and 4th and short and decided to go deep. He's in a funk, and as in the past, when he has a stinker like yesterday, he tends to get more focused and be much better the remainder of the year. This will be the same.

The only thing that makes sense in my head is he can't be trusted to run the playbook or get the route concepts down.

I can't recall a single play that's gone to Toney since Week 1 that was anything other than a gadget play or a quick WR screen. In the game against the Lions, he was running routes and open by a good margin. He just couldn't ****ing catch the ball. Since then, I think he's averaging like 10-15 plays per game on offense every week.

Yes. To be fair, I think he tried, but Jones' situation limited his ability to get anything done.

I agree that he's not playing like himself. He seems a little "happy feet" in some clean pockets and he's passing up open guys looking for more. That being said....can you blame him much? How many times has he put balls on the money and been punished for trusting a WR. I think it's clear as day he has no confidence in this group and is leaning too much on waiting for Kelce to find a hole that might be more comfortable for Pat than throwing a quick cross to someone like Moore or Watson.

You know what though? Yesterday, when he went deep, guys were open. He just missed one and Skyy dropped the last one.

Bullshit excuse,

Not being active in FA was a mistake. Not being active at trade deadline is a mistake.

At least this year it's not simply other teams throwing new stuff at him, it's the talent around him. Weirdly I prefer this. But yeah, he's been off and yesteday he was flat awful.

Again, with what $$$? The Jones contract held things up. It's not an excuse. It's fact.

They were pretty active in FA. Now maybe they should have done it differently and allocated more $$$ for a FA WR, instead of OL and LB. But hey did sign James, in FA also. There was a reason why he didn't cost allot though.
