Great news on JWat. That injury looked like it could be season ending.

“As expected, receiver Justin Watson (bruised elbow) didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice. Reid also said the Chiefs don’t expect to put Watson on injured reserve, meaning he could return before the team’s bye week in early November.”

I see them holding him out until after the bye.

I mean, I love how Washington has played. But it’s really hard to justify a return specialist if we’re keeping 7 now adding mecole and omenihu. I think you just give that to mecole knowing he’s gonna be relegated to smaller duties elsewhere so it’s not the same world where we want to preserve him.

Or start getting Washington some run at WR.

Thankfully we have a great ST's coach so god forbid we have to coach up someone to return punts.

Agreed. That’s a little frustrating. We have a gazillion DBs and WRs. Many of them not seeing a ton of reps. Can’t get any of these guys to be capable returners? Oh well… it’s least of my concerns but would be nice not to waste a roster spot on a pure specialist

Okay, the WR hate has jumped the shark.

Washington is a trash ass WR. This is not a case of “it can’t get any worse.” Yes it can. It can get far worse.

This place cracks me up.

Complain about shitty WR's, suggest *slightly less shitty WR* as the solution.

Per the Athletic:

"Andy Reid has been a head coach for the past 24 seasons. In that time he's coached approximately 156 WR's. Just 5 WR's (3%) have recorded 1,000 yard seasons playing for him (and two of them were the freaks of nature Terrell Owens and Tyreek Hill). Reid's offense isn't changing anytime soon--we need to temper expectations."

Andy's offense has always been through the RB and TE. WR's are complimentary.

Doesnt matter unless Mahomes starts throwing the ball to WR's that are wide open for 20-30 yard gains. Mahomes has an easy 10 yard throw to a wide open Rice, he's looking right at him, that if he makes one tackler miss, its a 60 yard TD.

Every game there are easy big plays missed becaise Mahomes doesnt trust them. He needs to evolve. This is going to be his QB life from here on out. You are going to be throwing to JAG's. Wide open receivers should be getting the ball thrown to them regardless if they are a JAG.

I know what the numbers state on MVS, but he just hasn’t had that game yet. He’s a guy that can go for 6 catches and 90 yards against the Raiders in week 5 last year, then follows it up with zero catches and zero yards against Buffalo. MVS goes for 111 yards against SF last year, only to follow it up with 1 catch for 12 yards the next week.

He’s a boom or bust guy each week. He’ll have a few of those games again this year. Let’s just hope it’s when it is really needed.
