It is scoring efficiency. How efficiently does your offense put points on the board.

Both years we won the SB we were #1 in this category.

Last year both SB teams were #1 and #2 in this stat.

The Los Angeles Rams were #7 the year they won (weird year where teams like Chiefs were eliminated from the pool).

The Tampa Bay Bucs were #2 the year they won it all.

The year before that the Chiefs were #1 and won our first with Mahomes.

It's an important metric.

So Imma speak briefly to "Why doesn't Moore get the ball" again and with a twist - it's not always his fault but even when it isn't, it kinda is...

Here's the play I'm talking about:

Moore has some separation at his cut and Mahomes is on time finding him. Then he doesn't throw it - why?

I think it's because he doesn't think Moore will get the corner. He sees that as a giveup play; picking up 4 when you need 8. Because as he's looking, the CB has already changed directions so he knows it's a footrace to the boundary. And he doesn't think Moore's gonna win it.

Moore did what he should there based on the playcall, but it's physical limitations we've seen from Moore at times that have Mahomes pulling the ball down, looking for more and eventually throwing an interception.

If Moore is going to be on the field and is going to run that route, Mahomes has to throw it and let the chips fall where they may. But the problem here is that Mahomes may just be right. As the clip progresses you can see that the CB is right in his pocket. There's a real good chance that Moore DOESN'T get that edge and it's a 4 yard gain.

So again - please go sign Mecole !@#$ing Hardman. That's a Hardman play. It's a ball he gets and motors to the boundary to at least pick up the first and he may just house.

You're asking Moore to run 'fast guy' plays when he just doesn't play that fast. And Mahomes knows it.

Look at Mahomes head there. He never progresses out there, he hangs on Kelce (or Rice) in the middle of the field too long.

I'm no Moore fan but I think you're harshing him a bit here. He wins this route, if he catches it and turns upfield, he may get tackled sure, but Pat has to throw that. Moore has all the leverage and a catch and turn is close to a first down.

Simmons is the give away. Look at how he drives on Kelce there. Pat locked in on that and wouldnt' come off it once the S drove, ball needs to go out side.

Looks like he looked right at him to me. He turned it down. Why? Discuss.

I'm not being harsh on Moore, and I don't actually think Mahomes hung too long.

He has Moore if he triggers when he looks. And he should be in the process of loading up even as he's looking that way. He just didn't let the ball go.

My issue isn't as to fault - it's on Mahomes. My question is as to why? Why doesn't he let it go? And that's where I get to Moore - I just don't think Mahomes believed that was a first down throw if he lets it fly. And I don't think it's because he believes Moore is going to duff the route (though he's done precisely that in similar situations). I think it's because he just doesn't think Moore has the jets to get the 1st and on a throw that's relatively high risk (the DB does read the route well; an undercut and pick 6 on a slightly off-target pass is in play), does the risk/reward justify making the throw if you don't think he'll convert the 1st down?

Maybe he changes his mind when he sees it on tape but the bigger issue is...maybe he doesn't. I've watched that play several times now and I think I agree with Pat - I don't think Moore gets that corner.

Nah - looking right at Moore:

Just doesn't fire. Any position is a ready position for him - he could've sidearmed that one as quick as a hiccup. Just didn't let it go.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one.

He's not a guy who drops his eyes before he looks at the route. If he had been staring at the rush by then, he's going to look forward and try to scramble. He didn't do that. He was looking to the whip route.

I'll also say that DJLN's arrow on the Broncos' defender is deception. He's closing in on Moore, not running parallel.

Do you trust a contested out route to Moore?

In the full video, not a still shot, his head doesn't go that far for more than a split second, then he immediately comes back the other way.

Eventually when he turns back out that way to throw it to Moore, it's a different angle.

Which leads me to believe that he didn't look out there at Moore at the stop point here because the ball would come out.

If not because he doesn't think Moore can do whatever DJ is alleging here....well that's when coaching needs to either put someone else out there or have a discussion with the QB.

It's about leverage at that point. Unless that corner can absolutely flip his hips and change direction Moore has all the leverage there and the ball needs to come out.

If we aren't throwing that because we don't trust a guy, stop playing him. If the QB isn't gonna make those throws, we've got bigger issues here.

I agree.

Which is why you get Hardman.

If I'm right about the reason he didn't throw that ball, you need to make a personnel change.
