****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

And they have really sticky, physical press corners.

That defense is a particularly shitty matchup for us. A premier secondary can give us fits because we don't really have anyone wide they have to respect so they sit RIGHT in our pockets.

Look at those clips. Look at how insanely aggressive those DBs are playing. They're not the slightest bit concerned about a stutter/go because they know they'll catch right up to whoever it is they lose a step to.

I think you are correct - we need another speed threat. And not to replace MVS, we need one to supplement him.

The answer, of course, is DJ Moore. But hell, if the Cardinals are looking to eat some salary and move Brown - aight, that works. We need someone that can keep the DBs honest because they have ZERO fear of a ball going over the top right now and they'd diving on our WRs as soon as the ball is snapped so the short stuff is bound up as well.

Oh, and yes - I would absolutely take Hardman back. If this becomes an Ingram scenario where we trade for a guy and give up a 3rd day pick to avoid having to pay his signing bonus, I'm all for it.

Go ahead and bring Mecole back because he really does stress defenses when you're using him on jet actions, vertical routes or even those drag routes. Safeties have to be aware of what he's up to because if they lose him in space, he's gone.

This,

I think Ross/Rice have the ability to win at the top of the route. I don't see MVS/Watson/Skyy winning.

Yeah, Jeff Allen made a comment on twitter about Mecole coming back. It would make alot of sense. You could drop James off the roster.

Ross isn't really gonna help in terms of beating that kind of coverage though, but you could atleast throw some back shoulder stuff to him.

He’s producing with Josh Dobbs. Not a terrible player ( I liked him late in the 2017 draft) but he ain’t Mahomes. He would be deadly here.

That's my thought,

His route tree has that in it, clearly Skyy doesn't have the ability because it requires precise route running and timing.

Plus his sheer size, if matched up on a shorter CB hes going to win.

He's a pending FA, so they probably aren't getting much for him.

Say a 5th rounder? Maybe?

Nearer $10 million at this point, no?

Still a large number but it's a little smaller at this point. Have him up to speed by week 10?

But that's why Hardman makes sense. He'd hit the ground running. And he'd be cheap and bring most of what we need that Hollywood does.

Makes sense to me. I dunno if a bridge was burned there or not.

Vet minimum base.

Just how burned can the bridge have been? I mean damn - this guy seemed like a potential focal point of the offense last year before the injuries.

And honestly, I really liked what I saw from him in those earlier efforts as well. I saw real progression from him.

It just really makes sense for all parties. I mean surely a 6th has more value to the Jets than a guy that's for all intents and purposes a gameday inactive. They're barely using him at all.
