He practically breaks his own leg every time he makes a cut. He's a tough guy to tackle though.

I think they should put Toney on punt returns. I don't know why Richie James is the guy, he straight up dropped one against the Jags and had a history of doing that with the Giants. Toney is a legit weapon on the punt return game and it's worth putting him out there for it IMO. He isn't like a superstar receiver that you wouldn't risk him on punt returns.

It's pretty clear from the replays he can't see the ball because of the sun. I'm willing to give him a pass on this, this time.

I agree, except that when healthy Watkins was a pretty good receiver. When Toney is healthy, he can be a game breaker.

I thnk that's a terrible idea. Even the absolute best punt returners in history only score on a couple of plays a season the record is 4. He can break 4 long passing TD's in 4 games if he stays healthy. He's electric with the ball in his hands. Keeping him on the field with the offense is more valuable and he's way too injury prone.

Sadly though if he just takes that to the outside with his blockers he picks up easily the same yards, plus most likely some extra ones with the light chance to house it.

If he cuts outside he is right in the path of #23 and is a lesser gain. The Defender Kelce blocked had already released and would have had decent shot at the tackle as well.

See bold

I think Hardmen was a more wise investment.

Yeah, surprising strong for how fragile he is though. Dude is an odd kind of athlete but an athlete none the less.

Yeah, no. that was the right read. If he bounces out to his left after clearing the blocks, that defender to his right almost certainly tackles him right there. He had to bounce back to his right to avoid that guy, and then he's basically surrounded.

Toney can be dangerous but concerns about him are still there with good reason.
