Predictions After the Loss

Just curious what people's predictions of our win total are after week one. Who's panicking? Who thinks WBF? Go on record!

12 wins minimum. We look a little rough at the start (which we seem to do a bit) then some dumbass like myself will make a “won’t sniff the playoffs” type thread, then we go on a tear, and win the Super Bowl again.

This defense may be legit, especially if Jones gets his shit together. Couple that with growing pains early for the Oline and WR's, I predicted 12-5. I had this week's game against Jax as a loss, so 0-2 and this place will melt down. However, this has the potential to be the best defense Pat has been coupled with and offensively we should be much better at the end of the year. I wouldn't want to see us in January.

Kelce or no Kelce, with the best QB in the league and one of if not the best offensive line, the offense sucked. Bad play calling, Mahomes was off a bit, the drops, too much CEH, not enough McKinnon, etc.

The D played more than good enough for a win. They're going to be fine, with out without CJ.

Quite the opposite of last year's opener where we looked so sharp on offense. I don't think this game can be blamed as much on the WR as everyone wants to do -- sure, we'd have won without Toney's blunders, but still wouldn't have looked sharp.

You take any team in the NFL... ANY... and their #1 receiver is injured in practice 2 days before a game, they will struggle in that game. You can't game plan for 2 weeks and then fix it in 24 hours.

I went 12-5 and I could see 11-6. The schedule is tough. Then again if everything goes right with health and Chris Jones and possibly making a move for a WR, I could see us going 14-3 or something too.

The chiefs played at best a C+ overall game with the defense playing really well, and still should have won by 2 scores.

Andy Reid’s offenses won’t look like that for extended periods. Sucks to lose the opener but whatever, moving on

Yeah I kinda get this, it's confusing long-term and short-term concerns. I look at that performance and think "man I am not looking forward to Kelce retiring" which is a down-the-line problem.

On the other hand it's also people going over the top on the potential of some of these players and getting a reality check. Donovan Smith was available for $3m for a reason, ditto Ritchie James being cheap and Justyn Ross being a UDFA. Some of these might be genius moves (Tranquil, I'd guess) some of them won't and we'll have gaps that Reid, Nagy, Spags and Mahomes have to work around. It'll take time and it won't always be pretty.

I'm still staying at 12-5, 13-4 train. Our tough schedule will prepare us for SB vs Niners or Eagles..

No way Detroit sniffs SB this year and I don't care that they just beat us.

Smith looked fine, and like an upgrade to Brown. Taylor was good. Ross didn't drop his only target and looks like he was open on multiple snaps.

James is an insurance policy.

It's going to be okay. Much like last year with the secondary, you commit to a youth movement, and you deal with the growing pains.

Smith and Taylor are going to get better, it's just how the OL works, especially this one. But Smith being better than OBJ is an odd projection to me, I think it's based on people underating OBJ significantly and I say that as someone who didn't like the fit.
