He can’t. The dude is one of the greatest players ever, but he can’t do it alone.

Tonight was a look into an alternative future where the Chiefs waste Mahomes the same way the Packers wasted Aaron Rodgers.

Bum ass Brett Veach and cheapskate Clark Hunt need to wake the **** up and put a team around this man.

Hmmm... interesting take... last year was going to be a rebuilding year after the loss of Hill and the Chiefs end up winning it all. At some point, you have to reload and the price of success is hoping your later picks turn into diamonds instead of coal. The Chiefs have been spending a lot of money and picks on the OL to protect their QB investment and last year, the top picks went to the Defense.

We are spoiled; five straight AFC championships and two overtime losses from five straight SB appearances. They aren't going to win every game every year. I'm just trying to enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.

Yep. Really dumb argument. Either the FO did a good job of building and then rebuilding, or Mahomes can win it by himself.

I still expect this WR corps to be better than last year's, which was obviously good enough.

I am slightly confused as to how Mahomes team friendly deal, isn't helping us build a killer team around him.

NE in their dominating years had Brady on a team friendly deal, a top O line, good recievers and a top defence. Eagles still have a freak squad, Bengals will find a way to pay all three recievers.

I know we have the highest paid RT, but we also have 2 interior guys on rookie contracts and one of the cheapest LT. We are lucky Kelce is happy with his salary but where the hell is the rest of the cap going? Cause it sure as hell seems like Mahomes being the 7th or 8th highest paid QB is being wasted

Didn't the defense look pretty good last night, despite missing Jones and Omenihu? Sure seems like they're building well on that side of the ball.

Didn't the OL look pretty good? Seems like they may have upgraded there.

The story of last night was a horrible outing for one player who was clearly rusty and probably shouldn't have been on the field.

I don't see any reason that this can't still be a killer team. You just need players who don't normally drop the ball to not drop the ball. Seems doable. Adding Kelce/Jones/Omenihu to the mix won't hurt either.

$28M cap hit for Chris Jones this year before the holdout. So there’s some of the money. But in general I agree that it feels like other teams somehow have more loaded rosters even with expensive quarterbacks.

I admit Defense looked good last night, but it's still very young so where's the cap?

OL looks great, but as i said, 2 rookie deals, then the tackles offset each other.

Im not saying the team is bad, it just seems like we aren't able load up with more proven talent unless they are on 1 year vet min deals when teams with more expensive QB's seem to do it more easily

Wasn't Mahomes the first QB ever to win a SB with like a 15%+ cap hit? And now it's 18% this year.

Not all "team friendly" situations are equally friendly... I think Brady was at like 12%, but numbers could be off.

Yeah, he left money on the table, he's just that ****ing good... but it's still something to work around.
