Reminder for the doom and gloom crowd

The 2015 Chiefs with Alex Smith started 1-5. We went on to win 11 games that year.

The 2021 Chiefs had bad WR problems like we are seeing now. Started 3-4. We ended up 12-5 and hosted the Championship game.

Long season fellas. This staff will figure it out and we'll be fine.

For me, it's a reminder of how fragile success is in the NFL. Especially when your offense relies on a HOF TE and MVP QB to be successful. Really need to find a way to solidify the WR group because they need someone to step up and lead them. They looked lost most of the time.

The team has been able to find diamonds in the rough for players like Kelce and Hill however, I believe that they are going to have to spend some first round picks on WR at some point.

Right, and remember the 2014 season. We had Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery, Jason Avant, Junior Hemingway, Albert Wilson and Frankie Hammond at WR.

Reid will get this group figured out.

Really, if you think about it, we are looking at big changes right now. The WR group is in flux, we were missing our All-World TE on short notice, the defensive line is also in flux, we were also missing our best defender. Some growing pains are to be expected.

We’ve got a good test in the Jaguars next week. We will need to get back on track.

-Toney gets a half pass because of punt return in Super Bowl, but why are we rushing him back?

-Skyy just doesn't have "it" stop forcing it

- 3rd and short is EMBARRASSING for this ****ing team, how this issue isn't fixed is constant pain.

- Why the **** are we not feeding Pop?

It just feels like we are a reactionary team with our Roster and its going to catch up with us in a bad way.
We're all baffled at CEH being out there, of course, but if they're wanting to give guys 2nd or 3rd or 10th chances, do it now.... it's the opposite of reactionary, perhaps to a fault.

I wasn't all that upset with 3rd and short in last night's game from the perspective of "ermergerd not again!"... they were dropping passes everywhere, minus Kelce of course, and the Lions were really flying around on run defense.

It doesn't make it better obviously, just a bad example of "why can't they figure this out", IMO.... they sucked at it in new ways.

Yeah, I am actually optimistic after last night.

I think getting punched in the mouth was a great reality check for the WR group, who apparently needed it. They will be better individually and the coaching staff will make sure of that.

The defense played great without their top two pass rushers.

Most importantly, now Mahomes is pissed off.

Fair,

I just do not understand our Running Back approach anymore. Why did it feel like pop was on a pitch count?

Is CEH RB1?

It was a bad night. Chiefs seem to do that shit once, sometimes twice a year. Colts last year anyone?

We'll be fine. Toney is NOT this bad ever. Hopefully he just got a whole season of shitty play out of the way last night.
To be fair also, Taylor got away with like twenty penalties vs. Hutchinson before he got called, including multiple holds. It was a joke. Otherwise Mahomes wouldn't have had time to throw those passes. Taylor needs to figure it out because he's not going to get away with it going forward.

Exactly this.

But threads like this calling people out for being disappointed are horseshit. You can't afford to lose winnable games with the AFC race being as cluttered as we expect it to be. That's not gloom and doom, that's reality.

I hope this one isn't the difference between a bye or god forbid having to go on the road in January.

10 days to clean things up, and on to JAX.
