Quick notes:

*Skyy Moore dropped a nice pass (Mahomes) deep ball at the beginning of the practice. Def an OOOOF moment and he knew it.

*CEH running with the first team a lot from what I saw.

*Pacheco with a QB (yellow) jersey on and I didn't know why. Why? TELL ME WHY? I Feel like a noob.

*During first team 7 on 7, WR's were blanketed and Mahomes had to throw away and/or check down many passes. This is good news for our DB's... but they are familiar with our offense so it's a little expected.

*Blaine Gabbert had a beauty of a deep ball for a completion down the seem.

*Our DB's had multiple INT's today and WR's were barely running open. The completed passes were in super tight windows, and the DB's were ball hawks.

*Butker was nailing every kick right down the middle.

*A few times Ross had the opportunity to make a big play and it didn't get done, for whatever reason.

*Justin Watson caught a deep ball for a nice TD.

As far as DTs falling off, his body type is very rare for the position. It’s something I took notice of after we drafted him and Teresa Paylor likened his body type to Reggie White.

He hasn’t dealt with a ton of injuries that have a cumulative effect, either.

I think we can expect his prime to be 2020-2025, so a 3-4 year deal shouldn’t hurt.

That said, the history of Ried or Veach extending players after 30 isn’t exactly a long list…

I'll do a quick breakdown of DTs and when they decline...I'll try to do the best of a long period I'll start with 2000-2010

Kevin Williams,

drafted in 2003 and played that season at age 23...2010 would have been his age 30 season. He netted years of 10.5, 11.5 and 8.5 sacks before age 30. His age 29 season he had 6 sacks and his age 30 season he had 1. After the age 30 season the most he netted in a season was 5. He has 63 career sacks 14.5 of them come at age 30 and after. He dramatically dropped off after his age 28 season and this was an elite player.

La'Roi Glover
Drafted in 1996 he began his career at age 22. His age 30 season would have been in 2004. That season he compiled 7 sacks. He had 5 during his age 29 season. His best year came in 2000 as he threw up 17 sacks that year. Glover compiled 83.5 career sacks, 22 came at age 30 or after.

Warren Sapp
Drafted in 95 and would have been 24 during his first season. 2001 would have been his age 30 season, that season he had 6 sacks. His age 29 season though he had 16.5 sacks. Sapp compiled 96.5 career sacks 38 came at 30 or after.

I can do many more if you want but as you can see there is a steep production decline even for a HOFer like Sapp.

If they can get Jones age 29 season and then move after that, that would be the smartest thing to do based on history.

Give me a DT that didn't fall off as they aged, there aren't many great examples.

Isn't Sapp's falloff about the same time the Bucs went in the shitter?

It's certainly a possibility. We'd be severely cap strapped this season though.

Sapp actually boosted his numbers because he had a 10 sack year with the Raiders of all the guys I went over he had the best end of career.

Pacheco had surgery after the Super Bowl. Had wrist/hand issue and a shoulder. Not sure if he had surgery on both or not, but wrist/hand area for sure.

WR's report is interesting. Not really matching up with video's we are seeing and other reports. We had Watson dropping the early long pass from Mahomes.

And who were the starting WR's in 7 on 7's not getting open?

We also have video of Ross making plays.

Wr's making plays in 1 on 1 and jump balls, haven't really seen alot of separation as much.

But it's fine. Good news for the defense IMO.

This is true. The reason Pacheco is in yellow is because he’s non-contact. Thanks for sharing Monolith.
