Do we want DeHop?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...9536dcd3&ei=21
Story by Andrew Gould The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins. NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first. After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason. Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June. Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy. Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season. Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do we want a high priced prima donna? |

Seems all the linked teams (us,buf, bal) are picking pretty late.
From the group of 3, I can't really see it with Buffalo. Even with a higher 2024 cap, they're already projected to be over the cap. It's also a pretty steep price to pay to kick Diggs into the slot and he tends to bitch about targets already. Baltimore is a stronger case but they did just sign OBJ and still have Bateman. They also have a better shot at landing a WR in the draft. Maybe. All 3 teams in the mix are strapped for 2023 cap as is. |

Hopkins has already publicly stated he's willing to restructure. The Cardinals have demanded a 2nd, multiple times. Minimum. Explain your moon logic. |

My guess would be his moon logic consists of us having 10 picks and Veach being able to draft pro bowl level talent in the 5th and later.

"Here's the problem: The problem is his current contract," Keim said during an appearance on former NFL defensive lineman Chris Long's podcast, per a transcription by arizonasports.com. "Hop was his own agent, and I can tell you that wasn't the easiest (negotiation) in the world. Between him and Larry Fitzgerald, that put all the grey on my beard." "They're probably going to have to come to understand that they're probably not going to get as much as they would if he was a younger player or his contract was considerably lower, where you could get him for a second-round (pick)," Keim said. "It could end up being a second- or third-day draft pick to really get it done. Probably (need to) get a new deal done." |

God this would be infuriating. This situation is going to be Julio Jones 2.0.
Julio played 9 games in 2020 at age 31 and had 771 yds receiving. The next year with the Titans he continued being injured and sucked shit and this year he was on his 3rd team in 3 years. Titans gave up a 2nd and a 4th for a broke dick that couldn't stay on the field. If someone trades for DHop the same exact thing happens or it happens with the Cardinals. |
