Do we want DeHop?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...9536dcd3&ei=21
Story by Andrew Gould The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins. NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first. After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason. Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June. Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy. Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season. Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do we want a high priced prima donna? |

And draft capital/cap space doesn't mean shit on the field. Players win championships, not holding onto draft capital or being more frugal than another team with the cap. We need some real talent at WR, not a WR that saves cap space. Lol, talk about skewing things beyond recognition. You think JJSS/MVS/Hardman are on the same level as Deandre Hopkins? What the **** are you smoking? You should stop smoking it right now; your brain has rotted out of your head. DHop managed nearly the same yards as JJSS in half the games, and while JSS had the best QB to ever play throwing cupcakes to him and had to be schemed open, DHop had four QBs passing to him, not one of which was rated higher than 19th last season, and had to get himself open every time. JJSS can't beat press man or go deep, so he'd never have achieved half of what Deandre did in 2022. And yeah, DHop was the primary target, everyone knew it, and yet they couldn't stop him. Who do we know that performs like that, I wonder? rhymes with Bravis, I think. Oh, and the forcefeeding thing; DHop averaged about 8-9 targets/game. Hardly what anyone would call forcefeeding.

The guy who is the 'best player in the draft' and managed six sacks?
First of all no chance he falls past Chicago but also...shades of Travon Walker. I said last year that the Jags should take Charles Cross and I was right. |

Also, Carter is easily the best player in this draft, off the field concerns aside. |

I go between defending him and then attacking him depending on the wind direction
like how he's always out of breath. Conditioning problems on Monday, got that DOG in him and going full speed all the time on Tuesday. |

Could you imagine Carter falling into the late teens and us moving up and getting him?
Karlaftis Carter Jones Omenihu That’s a defense that constantly harasses QBs without needing to blitz. In todays nfl, that’s HUGE. |

Carter from what I've read so far of him appears to lack effort. Takes plays off during games. In other words -> Lazy.
Judging by the debacle during his pro-day, that confirms the evaluation of him.

Ok interesting question.
Say Veach and his staff have Carter #1 on their board and think he will be an annual all pro player. Would you be in favor of Veach using Jones to trade up to get Carter? Again, Veach thinks Carter could be as good as Jones. |

The other team wouldn't do that..it's a pipe dream that would require a bunch of draft capital.

Lol, no chance. It would be idiotic to trade Jones to try and get a guy that might eventually be almost as good as Chris Jones. Or he could be a huge bust.

It'd also be idiotic for another team to give up a high pick and the cheap years that come with that to pay Jones a bunch of money as he's turning 30.

I think the Mack trade is a very good baseline to look at when he was traded from the Raiders to the Bears. Bears gave up 2 1st rounders and 2 3rd rounders If you add all that up its about a 6th or 7th overall pick value. |

Mega and Mecca, I think you both are arguing the opposite sides and that is why I think we can't rule out a trade all together. I mean hell Veach sent Tyreek packing
