Do we want DeHop?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...9536dcd3&ei=21

Story by Andrew Gould

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins.

NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first.

After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason.

Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June.

Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy.

Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season.

Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses.

Do we want a high priced prima donna?

Petro can’t even properly formulate a question during a press conference. He doesn’t know dick, mostly because no one has what it takes to maintain a relationship with him.

At the Chief's price however. Otherwise, kicks rocks. Veach will find someone else.

The only person ever associated with the Chiefs who returns his calls is Carl Peterson… that is his “source”.

I am leary of mid to late season pass catching additions. That catch fire, but don't the following season. Would rather draft and bargain bin it.

The chances of this stretch of luck continuing is not worth going to deep on next season or two. Go young and look to the long haul

We're running out of viable 'someone else's.'

No way Andy is comfortable with the WR room as-is. That's just coachspeak he's putting out there for the rubes.

But yeah, Veach isn't going to panic. He's going to play his hand. That could take some time.

But he's going to sign a veteran WR. I just decided that among those that are left, the only one worth taking is DHop. The rest are either JAGs, don't really fit the offense, or it's Odell. I'm not an Odell fan and he's more limited than DHop, so it's obviously Dhop.

Deandre can take up the slack production-wise, and he can mentor the young WR room for a couple seasons. He can make a big difference in their development, and how long it takes for them to develop.

That's why you have guys like that in the room. Otherwise, the young guys have to figure it out largely on their own. Which takes a lot longer.

So DHop it is.

Veach didn’t seem concerned about our OL issue and then went and paid big money for a guard then lasered in on the draft to find Humphreys and trey. Then did the same thing with mcduffie, cook, Watson at db.
Important not to confuse being laid back with not putting the effort in.

There's no way they're "ok" with that receiver room, we just haven't seen the solution yet.

Carr and Adams should have worked far better than it did. Tua and Hill worked better than it should have. Diggs did help Allen be better, for a while anyway.

Brady made it work with nobodies, Rodgers can not. You never really know

"Knowing people " and having legit actual sources are two vast different things.
