Do we want DeHop?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...9536dcd3&ei=21

Story by Andrew Gould

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins.

NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first.

After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason.

Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June.

Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy.

Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season.

Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses.

Do we want a high priced prima donna?

Yes, Diggs is very good. But if you're gonna sit here and tell me I should be afraid of two CLEARLY declining safeties and Daquan Jones - pft.

Yes, that's just trolling.
Glossing through their roster and I really can’t see anyone I should be concerned with on that defense aside from a “maybe” with a 34 year old busted Von Miller.

I will stand by my post that said they are a worse version of the Bengals, even with Hopkins.

Say what you will but the Bengals draft better and utilize FA better than Buffalo and it really isn’t a thin margin. There’s a big disparity there.

The Bengals are our biggest competition for a reason. They’re a very well ran organization.

NOBODY is saying this is a lousy offense. We are talking about two teams with the firepower to shoot out with us and defenses that historically have stopped our offense just enough to make these games tough wins. In buffalo we’ve had the edge. In cincy we have not apart from one anomaly where our defense flat out dominated cincy.

Let’s look at cincy alone. Even if we kept the same team does anyone love our odds against a healthy version of that team? We aren’t losing to them because our offense sucks. But their defense has mostly made it really difficult to outshoot them

They're a solid, steady organization. I don't know "well run" you can say they are when the core of their team was picked in the top 5 because they were completely inept for years before that. Yeah, they are solid drafting team, they're good in FA, and they're definitely the Chiefs #1 hurdle. But I have to see how they perform once they have to break up that core and start making do with later draft picks before I crown them.

The Bengals lost more this offseason.

Adding Hopkins would DEFINITELY leapfrog Buffalo into second place, at worst.

I'd say best case scenario for the Chiefs, if they get Hopkins, it's KC 1A, Buffalo 1B.

Dude, you're creating worry based on something that didn't ****ing happen. They were 13 seconds away, just like the Bengals were 3 points away.

I get thinking that the Bills and Bengals are tough outs for us because they are.

But you're actually talking emotionally here about how much they improved vs. how much we haven't. One, it's March and FA JUST STARTED. Two, we don't even know how long it will last. The Bills could drop off significantly in the next 24 months and the Bengals are about a year or two behind that.

RIGHT NOW, they are our chiefs competition but worrying about shit like this, in March, is pure pansy bro. Sack up. We just won the ****ing Super Bowl.

They're also a play or two away from being 1-4 vs KC.

The same as last year, and the year before, and the year before that. How much does reality have to hit you in the face before you start thinking about things that DID happen instead of things that MIGHT have happened?

Yeah, and it will probably happen again. The Chiefs aren't going to win them all. That still doesn't mean you gotta freak out because one team signed one guy and that's going to make them invincible.

BTW, how many times has 24-20 happen in the playoffs, when it really matters.

Oh yeah.

Worrying about the Bills right now if ****ing silly. The Bengals are a better team and they're still nothing to worry about.

Bengals now have OBJ as the LT. I'm not sure they will even make the playoffs.
