Do we want DeHop?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...9536dcd3&ei=21
Story by Andrew Gould The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins. NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first. After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason. Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June. Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy. Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season. Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do we want a high priced prima donna? |

I know a lot of people think a 3rd is plenty but our 3rd is basically a 4th and our 2nd is basically a 3rd. I'm just not sure our 3rd rounder would get it done compared to any other team offering a 3rd.

Go google and you will see that Dallas gave up value for Cooper only because they needed cap help. Everyone knew the value was too low BUT again Dallas had cap issues. |

Question: How about this trade, Veach did a similar trade for OBJ
Cards get: #31 Chiefs get: Hopkins #3.66 #3.116 This would give Hopkins a 3rd round value. Just not sure Veach wants MORE picks...but I could see him doing this and then trading back up. Could also do: Cards get: #31 #2.63 Chiefs get: Hopkins #2.34 #3.96 This also gives Hopkins a 3rd round value. |

Tits gave up a 2nd & a 4th to acquire 32 year old Julio Jones. Surely Arizona will use that trade as argument of what they think they should get in return.
I would be happy with giving up a 3rd and that's it.

They should not trade a 1st under any circumstances. The 5th year option is so damn valuable that it should take a elite player in their prime to trade a 1st.

I agree and thats why I think the Cards take less value than they want for Hopkins because they gain that 5th year option.

I don’t think it’s brought up as some proven play. It’s more pointing out that we need to have outside options in short yardage and goal line, and we flat out don’t have it. Whether it’s a fade, back shoulder, jump ball… other teams do it with lesser QBs while we have to run 20 variations of an underhand toss.
