Do we want DeHop?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...9536dcd3&ei=21
Story by Andrew Gould The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins. NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first. After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason. Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June. Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy. Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season. Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do we want a high priced prima donna? |

He's going to be arrogant with his demands and everyone knows that going in, I'm only down for it if he goes dirt cheap in pursuit of a ring... otherwise he can kick rocks

Why on Earth would you pay top dawg money for a WR that hasn't played a game in over a year? you have no idea whether he can play a single down right now. I mean, when I buy a truck, and up until last year i bought them all used. All 5 of them. And one thing for sure, I drive the ****ing thing first before I even think about wanting to buy it. I am not dropping actual money on a daily truck without knowing it will start, run down the street, go down the highway for a piece, up a hill, down a dirt road. Then I think about whether I'm buying. And for certain I'm not buying a truck from the former owner when he tells me, "hey, the tranny went bad on it two years ago, but I had it repaired, and it should drive fine. I personally haven't taken it out for an actual drive, just up and down the driveway, but I'm pretty sure it'll go down the road okay." Dhop has been largely healthy outside of what? Two injuries? Not the same injury twice (seems i know a WR that did exactly that?), but two different injuries? So, I know DHop will be available week 1. I'm at least 90% certain of it. And I saw him play at a high level just a couple months ago. Will OBJ? Has anyone seen him even run full speed in over a year? Run a route? Jump? And the fool wants like $20M just so someone can find out if he might be able to play? Nope. I'm all the way out on that.

I don't know what he'll demand. i saw the look in his eyes back in week 14-15? He is all the way frustrated with Murray and/or losing. It's really the only reason I think the whole idea of him coming to KC has any wheels at all. He's pretty smart. he knows his window has shrunk to just a few years before he noticeably declines. If he's going to get a Ring, it has to be in the next 3- 4 years. That's the crossroads, and he knows it. Go after a Ring right now, or collect the money and teach young/unpolished QBs how to play the game. Those are his options. i think (and no I have no actual evidence other than what i saw in his eyes after that game) he's tired of playing nursemaid to ungrateful/under-achieving QBs/teams and wants to start winning again, maybe chase a ring.

![]() Randy Moss. ![]() Any way, so because Randy Moss, a generational talent was traded to the Patriots when he was 30 means trading for DHop is...? For giggles on the HOFm #'s from earlier. Randy Moss - 150.12 . Just a mere 2nd all time for WR's. DeAndre Hopkins - 59.84 . A close 50 spots behind Randy. |

It doesn't matter any way. DHop is not going to be here next year, or any year after that. So considering that, I highly doubt he even sniffs the HOF process in 2 decades at least. |

But if he plays another 5 years, he probably gets in. That'd get him to about 15,800 yds, 110 TDs . . . Whether he's a 1st ballot guy, idk, but five more years of just average of his last five, and he's probably in at some point.

Have Bert's drafts gotten better or worse over time?

The more you weigh this those, I don’t think it gets done. His age alone and what he would bring isn’t really what they’ve looked for at wr

I've seen him get ticked off when the play goes badly and when they don't win. I think he'd be happy to win consistently. But who knows? I'm not in his inner circle, so i can't say with any surety.
