No. Maybe if you are untrained and not certain if someone has a pulse, or how to check for a pulse, but you don’t start CPR knowing someone has a pulse.

And again to clarify, for someone who isn’t sure, or doesn’t have training, starting compressions is the right move. Those with training would check for a pulse first.

I tend to agree. Honestly, I am not predicting this, but I won't be shocked if several players from either team retire. I've rarely seen the looks of panic and dread on the faces of human beings than what I saw from several players. I could see some of them going home to their wives and kids tonight and saying "yeah, I'm good. I've made a few million (at least) so I think selling insurance may not suck after all".

Again, not predicting it, just saying it wouldn't surprise me.

No clue to be honest. I wouldn’t think they would have that kind of turnaround, but just saying if they were contemplating it, exceptions could easily enough be made. I don’t see how they could play that quickly, nor should they.

You realize sir, that a person can have a pulse and still not be breathing...right

An example would be someone who has drowned, yet still has a weak faint pulse.

Yes

This is why we have assisted ventilation.

Do you think everyone on a ventilator is getting chest compressions?

Do you think that once his pulse was back they continued to give CPR?

Attention to the section on “No normal breathing, pulse felt”

JJ Watt must be thanking his lucky stars he made it through this season without a problem after he had the A-Fib event and chose to keep playing. He’s retiring this year. I think about some of those guys in the past who quit at a young age. They look pretty smart right now. Guys like Calvin Johnson, Barry Sanders, and Patrick Willis.

Yep. The NFL Players Union would also likely support this position, especially if many Bills players didn't want to play. Bills get home after 3AM. By the time they process with their loved ones, there will be scant time to sleep before getting on the plane for a Tuesday game. Looking like a Wednesday game, with week 18 postponed to Monday and a short week for one or two playoff teams. It's a really complex decision with no ideal solutions.

Welp, what's done is done. NFL needs to move swiftly on what their next move is going to be. Both teams are scheduled to play Sunday.

Will we see the first ever Wednesday night football game? It's a four day spread from Wednesday to Sunday, same as Sunday to Thursday. That's my best guess. Oh, and the Bengals still win.

And what is the appropriate time? Do they see who wins and loses next week and decide how much the game mattered?
