The AFC Has Had Enough of Mahomes and KC

Never have I ever seen teams in the AFC (much less just the West) load up like they are with the players that they are with the express intent of stopping one team. This is amazing to watch, honestly. Everyone is trying to get the fifth generation 46 defense to stop precisely ONE guy - Patrick Mahomes. Get as many high caliber ends and defensive backs in an attempt to keep Mahomes in the pocket all uncomfortable and throw picks to the above average DB's back there double teaming Hill and Kelce.

I'm really looking forward to what ideas Andy and Patrick come up with to counter all these moves contenders are making Conference wide, and I am super pumped to see who we bring in throughout the rest of free agency and the draft. I'll admit I haven't felt much of anything towards the Chiefs since the Bengals loss, but watching all this mayhem go down, my blood is pumping again for this team.

Compared to most years, I think everyone would agree that the talent being brought into the division is much better overall than it has been in a long time.

KC is the team to beat, no doubt. The last 2 seasons, the Chiefs have not really been threatened. The talent additions are strong and will prove to be very significant for the Chargers, Broncos and Raiders. KC's path to winning the division is a lot harder, not impossible by any means.

Top to bottom, this should be the most balance we've seen these 4 teams be in the same year. It will be a dog fight.

So we can count on you for the weekly AFC West game threads again!

Or is that only if Denver is good and everyone else is bad, like last go around?

Seriously, as I've said many times... I believe I stopped those back in the 2013 season before DEN was stomped by SEA in the SB. I've done them maybe twice since then because you asked. So, it's been nearly a decade, but keep typing as if I quit in 2016.

And, no... I won't bring those back, it creates too much butthurt.

This was the last in the series that I posted... ended in 2013, when Denver beat KC week 11, 2013. I was pretty close to accurate on the score too by the way.

My favorite part is how they've all screwed themselves for years while the Chiefs have tons of cap flexibility. This was supposed to be the tough one.

Denver was +1200 to win the Super Bowl right after they signed Lets Ride. Which was good for 5th best in the NFL.

Fast forward to week 12 and their odds are +55000. Which is 4th worse in the NFL.

Mr. Uuuuuunlimited really fooled a lot of people.

College and pro.

Made USC relevant (and a national champion) for the first time in 15 years, and it took 15 years after for them to be relevant again

Take away Pete Carroll and that school doesn’t have a national title since the 1970s
