Meck's 2022 predictions

Get your hot takes right heyah! 10 fabulous, hot off the press predictions from your fearless bus driver!

1. My favorite team, The Kansas City Chiefs, will win the Super Bowl.

2. Isiah Pikachu will be RB1 by game 5, and will have over 1,000 yards from scrimmage.

3. Mahomes will win the league MVP after proving the doubters wrong, and follow it up with the SB MVP just to rub it in their stupid faces.

4. The defense will finish top ten in sacks.

5. Furious George will hit 10 sacks and be a DROTY candidate.

6.KC will lead the league in scoring offense.

7. Justin Watson will lead the WR corps in TD.

8.Leo Chenal will be starting SAM by the end of the season.

9.Skyy Moore will catch at least 50 passes.

10. Frank Clark, in a resurgence, will tally....6 sacks. Oh well.

Yup, at one point I thought with a real QB he could duplicate his career high 1400. I'm off that hype train.

I think he will have some big games and wouldn't be surprised to also see him sit out some games.

But even if every WR basically stays healthy, my guess is a lot volatility game to game in stats.

Just a guess, can't wait to find out.

Alright, if we’re finishing top ten in sacks.

In 2021, the Titans and Browns tied for 10th (actually 9th) with 43 sacks.

Between Karlaftis and Clark, that’s 16 sacks. Where do they other 27 come from?

I really like the Chiefs on offense this year and I loooove their LB corps. But I’m worried about the inexperience of the secondary, and, well, the entire DL aside from Chris Jones.

Jones can get 10. Dunlap can get 7. That’s 33.

Wharton gets 3-4. Nnadi and Saunders each get 1-2. Danna gets 3.

The linebackers and DBs combine for 4-5.

If Karlaftis and Clark really combine for 16, then it really isn’t too hard to believe we finish in the mid 40’s.

Reasonable.

I’m not as optimistic, but I think this is all reasonable.

My prediction would be:

Jones at about 10, Karlaftis at 10, Dunlap gets his perennial 8,
Clark gets 6, Wharton get a couple, Danna gets 3 or 4, Nnadi gets a couple, then you'll get some from Spags blitzes, with Sneed getting a couple like always, and Gay will get a couple and look for Chenal late in the season to pick up some pass rush/ blitz duties from the SAM spot.

Really, other than the rookie Karlaftis, it's not expecting career years from anyone. Just solid seasons from your contributors

We were like 7th in pressure rate last year, just couldn't finish. I'm going to back Veach and the secondary revamp and say that coverage problems were part of that.

Also-
I expect some blown coverages early in the year, but that overall the big increase in speed and physicality in the back 7 will be worth it. By later in the season, though, this defense will be very good.
