What kind of wallet are you packing these days?

I'm in the market for a new wallet and I'm not sure where to head. You can buy cheap wallets for three bucks or you can spend $100+ on a wallet.

I've done a needs assessment, and decided the following:

I need enough room to hold approximately four cards: a couple of credit cards, a driver's license, and a health insurance card.

I need a place to hold cash, and preferably a hidden or non-obvious compartment. I'm a baby boomer so I will always carry cash because you never know when the Soviets will launch a nuclear strike and destroy civilization and we'll need paper money to exchange for cans of beans or survival knives. That's how boomers were raised, so don't question me on it.

It would be nice to have some other little compartment for miscellany, like my discount card for the grocery store that's 1/8 the size of a credit card.

I've historically carried my wallet in my right rear pocket, but I'm open to moving it to a front pocket.

I'm kind of intrigued by the phone case that doubles as a wallet, but that means that I'll likely need a new wallet whenever I get a new phone, and that seems wasteful.

What do you have? How do you like it?

Small enough for the front pocket and can easily get to everything without a hassle. Most used couple cards in front.

Where do you carry your phone , wouldn’t you have the same cause for concern with a phone , shards of glass embedded into your scrotum can’t be fun.

What in the world are you carrying around receipts for?
Buy stuff from the hardware store. Find out it is the wrong size. "Do you have the receipt?", nope, "15% re-stocking fee".

Bought the wrong air fryer at Walmart. "Do you have the receipt?"

Also for business purchases for taxes.

lmao on the George gif!!

Over the last several years I have gone with a stingray wallet. The outside of those things is impossible to wear out. They are reasonable and pretty much bullet proof. It's about the only thing I use EBay for anymore. Here's an example.

Just bought that. Simple. I have some boots made out of stingray...yes bullet proof. Has the eye on top.

This is the one I bought.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

I had one from Cabela's but I kept getting it wet when I'd walk pivots without a rainsuit.

I had the moneyclip type and it digs into my leg when I'm in the tractor and it's pressed up against my leg and then motion of the seat just digs right into my leg for 18 hours a day. That's why I went back with leather.

That carbon fiber one penguinz posted looks pretty good, in the event I quit becoming a cheap ass.

But that's unlikely. Fact is dirt and occasional water is hard on wallets, so I have trouble dropping coin on them.

I typically have carpenter pants on. Side pocket. Typically whatever shorts I have on have some sort of side pocket. My dress pants don't, but if I have to wear slacks, I'm not taking my phone.

I got sick of sitting on my wallet and decided to go with a small front pocket wallet.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I purchased it in May 2013 and has only gotten better with age. I expect to still have this wallet for the next 10-20+ years.

100 year warranty. Great reviews on Amazon and other websites.

Looks like the Amazon link is to the old version. Here's a link to the new version if you would like to check it out

I got into minimalist wallets several years ago; for the past few I’ve been using a Trayvax. It looks like they’ve made a change to my model with the attachment point. But I love the bifold aspect with the interior money clip.
