Looked today in Raymore, found one that looked like it had been there a few days, but that was it. Ground was very wet where we were at though, wonder if more will pop when the complete saturation dried some more and the soil warms up.

First time looking anywhere in over a decade, not sure if this place has many to speak of , but hopefully we can get back out there some soon and see if more pop.

This, except it was technically big chunks of thick cut bacon instead of ham. That was cooked up just right before we found the morels. So, we just tossed the morels on with some butter/salt/pepper.

It was really good.

The hollow space inside Morels is renowned for harbouring insects: larvae warms, beetles, springtail bugs, teeny snails with crunchy shells, etc. To deal with the insects, place fresh Morels in a plastic zip lock bag, squishing most of the air out of it as you seal it (though don't squish the mushrooms.
