You have to assume that Samuel would be below that value. He's two years younger than Hill but doesn't have the consistent production of either Hill or Adams....plus an injury history.
Correct.

Plus, any team trading for him has the leverage of knowing he wants out, and knowing he needs a new deal.

As others have mentioned the Chiefs were ready to pay Tyreek top dollar until he wanted ridiculous top dollar.

If Deebo is willing to play for a contract that is comparable to what the Chiefs were originally offering Tyreek, why not make a move for arguably the best available WR?

Because he isn't. He wants more than Hill according to media. He wants to be the highest paid non QB.

Not happening IMO - Hell getting to 300 points would cost us a 1st, 2nd, and a 4th

Yeah, but that didn't limit the compensation in the Adams or Hill trades. You have to pay both ways.

Or doesn't believe any of the WR's they are sold on will make it to their first pick.

With Hill, the Chiefs were willing to make him one of the highest paid WR's.

But that wasn't good enough for Tyreek who wanted to max out and we balked at that.

Afterall, Mahomes and Kelce are well paid but probably could have demanded a bit more.

I think that annoyed Veach and Reid.

This is also true. Green Bay would be interesting because they have a higher pick, a bigger need for WR than us AND they were willing to pay Adams. Adams just wanted to be in Las Vegas more.

Green Bay would have to SERIOUSLY outbid everyone else regarding draft capital for SF to send him there.

If he's dealt, I'd think he's going to the AFC or a non-threatening NFC team.

I think Green Bay is the only one out there that's going to give up a 1st round pick for him. The Jets aren't giving up 10 and I don't see anyone between 10 and 22 that desperately needs a WR and is willing to give up their 1st round pick for Deebo.

The 49ers will probably get their best offer from the Jets and it's going to be their 2nd round picks and maybe a little more.

We could really use:

RB depth
2 WRs
An upgrade at RT
At least 2 DEs
At least 1 DT...for sure another NT
Another LB
Another 2 CBs
Another S

That's at least 11 spots that could use starters, an upgrade over current starters or at least depth at the position.

I mean it's not really lazy. Fill me in if I'm missing something. We have 76 players under contract according to OTC. 53 active roster, 16 practice squad. We're already over 7 spots. I find it hard to believe we're not going to sign a few more veterans, or at least hoping we do. Then 8 draft picks since we're throwing out the 7th rounders.
