I don't see them trading up for a DE either....unless it's around the 21-24 area because one fell.

None of the top DEs are going to be in our range and the 2nd-3rd round are filled with them.

I'm ok trading the later rounds, but I don't want to trade up in the first or anything like that.

Why? Dude is 26 and despite inconsistency with that team... 2 out of 3 thousand yard seasons and 16 TDs. This is the final year of his rookie deal, he's gonna get paid. And, WAS should ask for a nice return.

Shenault is great value if you can get him for a 3 or 4.

I said he would cost less than Metcalf.....which is probably true.

We don't need to but if they get a DE at 29, taking a guy like Pickens or Watson at 30 would be an interesting get.

I don't think his overall production (which did include over 100 yards on the ground on about a carry/game) is indicative of Watson as much as his team's offensive style.

He had 35 percent of the team's overall receiving yards (and no one else was close - 500 yard gap between him and the next guy). Compare that to Ohio State, where Chris Olave had 936 yards on an offense that threw for nearly 5k yards.

Olave only played in 11 games, but even if you prorate his total for the games in which he actually played, he's only accounting for 22 percent of the team's passing yards.

Olave had other NFL receivers around him, obviously, but still... the fact Watson far and away dominated NDSU's receiving share says a lot about play styles.

I honestly think Watson hits all the checkmarks for Veach.

Including lineage. And yes, i do think Veach considers shit like that.

My only concern is his hands. In his 1v1's at the Senior Bowl it didn't look like he had the strongest hands. Though he's making some real nice contested catches in his highlights.

I have no problem with taking a flyer on Watson at the end of the first. None at all.

It's a better option than trading away high draft picks for a guy that can't play right away.
