Dude - that's like David Boston numbers.

He's bigger than many, but more like 210 lbs rather than 230. Pringle is probably around 200.

Yeah, JuJu will hit guys. But so will Byron. Hell, so will that scrawny mouth-breather DeMarcus Robinson.

Doesn't mean I want to pay either of them an appreciable amount.

I wonder if Robinson is weighing a less-than-Kirk longer term offer from a shitty team vs a 1-year type deal from a contender with less cap space.

Totally baseless speculation. I just wonder if he's not getting the big money he expected.

Those moves wouldn't be expensive but they'd help fill in a couple spots on this roster. Then grab a DE and DT in the draft and bring in a veteran DE afterwards to round out that DE group.
KYZIR!!!

He's going to become my FA version of Hebron Fangupo. And we did sign Fangupo 2-3 years later, if my memory serves.

The problem was that he just kinda sucked. But in the end I really liked saying Fangupo so I regret nothing.

It's a fair point to say they can be demonstrative of a good season, but they're not predictive. I mean Julio Jones used to get blasted for not having many red zone TDs and I can't think of a guy more suited to that task than he is. By and large they're a product of usage. I don't think they demonstrate a meaningful skill set on their own.

6 of JuJu's 9 TDs came from inside 10 yards in 2020. Meanwhile Julio Jones had 5 of them in his first 4 seasons vs 26 overall. And I don't think anyone would argue that JuJu is a better red zone threat than peak Julio.

They may give an okay snapshot of what someone did - but not a very good data point for determining what they will do going forward. Like QB passing TDs in the red zone, they're just super volatile and there seems to be no predictive value to them. By and large players regress to the mean.

It's white noise, IMO.
I will say one thing about red zone, and especially gold zone, passing TD's - for the Chiefs, those numbers probably ARE a good data point for predicting future numbers because of the sheer volume of passes the Chiefs throw in those situations. I would expect any WR playing in this system to have somewhat inflated TD numbers, including Juju if he comes here.

Many of those really lousy teams who were willing to spend stupid money on mediocre players have already shot their wads.

I'm not sure there are any of those deals left in the market.

I honestly expected White to be gone. I'm not sure what his market looks like but I'm going to be pissed if he signs for something stupid like $4-5 million and it isn't with us.

Another day goes by and we still don't know how much cap space they actually have. Spotrac and OTC still have us $10 million over.

Neither of those guys are laying out linebackers 😅

I'm just saying what some guys have already said. I think AR is going to be too expensive. JuJu is more realistic and would be our third best WR

Sure, but it doesn't demonstrate it as an actual skill. Like I said, it's a product of usage.

In other words, most swinging dicks can get gold zone TDs in this offense. Think of how many of those insane plays we've seen from Mahomes that went to guys like Conley, Robinson and Pringle.

The guy on the other end probably just doesn't matter very much and doesn't do a whole lot to create that score.

That's really my point - it's not demonstrative of any kind of repeatable skill from the WR that would make him worth more than any ol' replacement level sort of guy.

You know this is happening, right?

And then we'll re-sign Ben Niemann for about 70% as much as White gets to be 50% the ballplayer.

Looking at the LBs that couldn't find a market last year and then seeing that we gave that guy $1.5 million really does annoy the crap out of me.

And in other salary cap news....the Saints are now $29 million under the cap after restructuring basically every contract on the team.

They're also meeting with Deshaun Watson a second time today. They're currently the favorites to trade for him.
