Arby’s is daring you to try what it is calling the spiciest sandwich on the market.

Starting Monday, the fast-food chain is bringing the heat with the new Diablo Dare Sandwich, which comes in two varieties – crispy chicken and smoked brisket.

The chain said the limited-time sandwiches come with five sources of heat: ghost pepper jack cheese, fiery hot seasoning, fire-roasted jalapenos and Diablo BBQ sauce, served on a red chipotle bun

Arby’s said the sandwich is “so spicy, we had to include a free vanilla shake to cool your mouth down between bites.”

The Diablo Dare will be available through Feb. 6 at participating locations nationwide and starts at $5.99, including the free snack-size shake.

“This is not a sandwich for the faint of heart,” Patrick Schwing, Arby’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Everyone in (the quick-service restaurant industry) says they have a spicy option, but our research tells us that consumers are disappointed by fast food claims of spicy.”

Schwing says Arby’s took that “as a challenge by making sure all different types of spicy – the hot, the numbing, and the lingering are combined to make the Diablo Dare a true test of how much heat you can handle.”

Arby’s also will have a challenge on TikTok with #ArbysDiabloDare. Starting Jan. 18, the chain said fans can go to TikTok and “use a branded effect filter to show their followers how much of the Diablo Dare sandwich they can take before reaching for relief with the vanilla shake.”

My future son in law can eat raw Habaneros and jalapeños like they are nothing. Whew.

Yeah I like spicy but that's a whole other level man eat those peppers raw. Damn son!

I saw the ghost pepper version at a WalMart once and was like screw it, whatever.... and it far exceeds anything I'd expect at WalMart (granted, I expected like jalapeno spicy at the very most).

That version is also very good... use it in breakfast burritos, too.


I bought the 2x ramen off Amazon the other day, but haven't tried it.... I have a pretty good tolerance, but "fire snakes"...... good god.

I get takeout from my favorite Thai place around twice a month. Chicken Drunken Noodle 9-star spicy. 9 stars is considered Thai-hot by the restaurant. Sometimes when I pick up, they ask if this order is really for me. This is usually perfect for me because it combines great flavor with the endorphins of the heat. The spiciness varies a little bit from time to time and sometimes it comes out a "heavy" 9 stars. That gets a little too hot for my preferences to the point where I can feel it when I urinate. I don't prefer that sensation.

You can order up to 100 stars spicy at that restaurant, but you have to pay extra for the spice when you go above 10. I can't imagine.

I tried the ghost pepper Mrs. Renfro's a while back. It really builds on you as you eat it. I didn't really enjoy it. I most enjoy heat when it is on something starchy like noodles or rice.

Great in burritos, sufficient starch from the tortilla and rice.

refried beans, sharp cheddar, diced onion, cilantro-lime rice, flank steak, sour cream and guac.

Plenty of Ghost Pepper Renfros.

Back in law school I lived in the heart of Thai deliciousness. A Thai family owned the building and the next on to it, and had 4 different restaurants on the ground floor. Fancy, country, grilled and takeout.

The takeout place had the best beef larb. steak strips in a thin brown sauce with granulated rice [where it's not cooked soft, but is ground up and put in the sauce to simmer, soak up flavor and give a little texture], scallions and peanuts. So simple, but very spicy

My daughter and I sometimes go for Thai at a different place than my usual. I have ordered 5 stars (the highest on the menu) and it really doesn't do it for me. The last few times, I have been asking them to bring me extra pepper flakes on the side, but tonight while googling local places for spicy food, I learned that they will go up to 50 stars on request. Not going anywhere near that, but 10 stars will probably be in my range.

I know what you mean about the mucus. That is why I like take out.

We have a Thai place here that rates their dishes as mild, medium, hot, and "be careful".
