I'm not going to kick Kareem while he's down. He taught me that that's a bad thing.

What about his contract now? He would have needed an extension or a tag in order to keep playing with KC. Very likely that would have meant we couldn't have signed Reed this offseason. Or Thuney.

You give him that extension, we're even more up shit creek in terms of contracts next year and for SURE Mathieu is gone next season. You tag him and we're faced with the same pressure this year. You let him walk in either year and everybody ends up having their periods.

To me, the obvious money-sensible thing to keep this gravy train a chugging is to let him walk as soon as his rookie deal runs out, meaning he's gone after last season. But I know people would have lit themselves on fire over that, so...

Anyway... it's a headache we don't have to deal with. And the bottom line is he WAS a dumbass who can't be trusted, and if that woman-kicking situation didn't flare up very likely something else would have because the man just plain lacks brain cells.

In summary, Kareem Hunt can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Want another cookie?
Aside from all the off field stuff it's a real question, he'd probably be making Kamara or Aaron Jones money at this point.

I'm more than at peace with how things have worked out, but he was a dumb kid who did some dumb things and paid the price for it. I don't hate him for that.

He's kind of been a minor douche about it since then, but it's mostly just in reaction to media questions about it. He's not going out of his way to rag on KC or anything.

Yep. I was kind of begging the question even though I didn't ask one, but yeah. That's what I was trying to say. I would have been very much against paying Hunt that kind of cash.

We can't be paying RBs while Mahomes is making his mega millions. It's just not gonna work out.

Draft them every once in awhile and let them go. Then find more off the scrap heap somewhere.

I wonder if Kareem secretly wishes he was still on the Chiefs.

He always seemed to like the culture that Andy/Mahomes provided, but couldn't be a part of it cause he ****ed up.

I understand all of that, but I think the truth is that Hunt is more than likely an alcoholic.

That doesn't excuse his behavior at all, but even while in Cleveland, on his second chance, he couldn't stop getting in trouble when alcohol is involved.

I don't know if he went to rehab, or the team, or Kareem himself, is paying a sober companion, but I don't remember him getting into trouble for a while, so maybe he is turning the corner.

Ya. He should have just been cool in this case though and not show-boated considering what happened.

I always thought it's dumb to release a player like that when another team can just pick them up and use them against you. But at this point I'm not going to question Clark Hunt, he turned out to be a fantastic owner and has created a family atmosphere with the team in Kansas City.

I guess. Jared Allen had a problem with alcohol too for a time. At least he never lied to the Chiefs about it, though.

Instead of being around homies and hoes, Allen was around cows and horses.

I still can't tell if Kareem has a vendetta against the Chiefs or not. Sometimes he acts like he does and other times he doesn't.

We heard his true thoughts when he drunkenly lamented not being part of our playoff run during his DUI and getting caught in possession in that traffic stop as a Cleveland Brown.

Spoiler: he misses us badly.
