Expecting a turnaround from a 10 year slow death?

That's quite a decline. What causes a 99 percent decline over a ten-year period? Let's look at wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_Energy

Former Enron executives James Lewis and Deborah Merril were Just Energy's senior executive, president, and Co-CEOs since 2007.[14]

Ooh, Enron executives. That's not a good start.

San Francisco's KPIX-TV news reported on June 2013 that there had been tens of thousands of complaints across the U.S. from consumers saying they were misled into signing up with Just Energy, and instead of saving money on their monthly bills as advertised, the cost went up. The complaints led to a consumer fraud lawsuit filed by the state of Illinois, and investigations in New York, Ohio, and Canada. Just Energy settled each of these cases, paying large fines and promising to change its sales practices.[15]

Hmm, deceptive sales practices. Okay.

Since Hartwick's claim, Just Energy has been cited by the Ontario Energy Board in November 2013 and November 2014, and by the Attorney General of Massachusetts in January 2015, for continued infractions, including widespread deceptive sales practices.[24] Hartwick left the company in 2014. James Lewis and Deborah Merril, who helped to found the company in 2002, are now joint CEOs.[25]

Okay, more deception.

Rebecca MacDonald, Just Energy's executive chair, has been accused of falsifying her credentials and her biography. Additionally, forensic accounting firms have determined that Just Energy uses questionable accounting practices and has misled investors as to their financial condition.[22]

Questionable accounting. That seems bad.

In September 2014, the police department of Sudbury, Ontario, issued a warning to the city's residents regarding the aggressive and illegal door-to-door sales activities of Just Energy sales representatives, and advised contacting the police if salespeople refuse to leave when requested.[26]

How do you have door to door utility sales? And the police warned against the company?

In November 2014, the Canadian Federal Competition Bureau says a subsidiary (National Energy Corp, which operates as National Home Services) of Just Energy Group Inc. has agreed to pay $7 million in penalties, restitution and other costs related to complaints over its door-to-door water heater marketing practices in Ontario and Quebec. Finding by the bureau that sales staff were misleading customers about their identity and the purpose of their visits.[27]

The salespeople are lying about their identity?

In January 2015, the Attorney General's Office of Massachusetts announced that Just Energy had agreed to pay $4 million to settle allegations of deceptive marketing and overcharging consumers. According to the settlement, Just Energy charged rates that were higher than the rates for the electricity supply provided by NSTAR and National Grid, and induced elderly and non-native English speakers by continuing to offer electricity supply services even after it became clear that they did not understand the terms of the contract. Consumers were also switched to Just Energy without authorization, and termination fees worth tens of thousands of dollars were charged to small business owners who weren't advised of the charges.[28][29]

Ripping off the elderly and small business.

It seems like this company might be poorly run.

Lol.

Maybe with a small amount?

I just see them a lot closer to their floor than their ceiling at this point and thought maybe I’d pick up in a handful with the mindset that they can’t get much worse than they currently are...

There's enough smart investors here that we should cooperate and set up a CP portfolio. Everyone who wants to could do their own DD's on whatever stocks they want and present their cases for upcoming plays. We could do long-term holds and short-term. Others could chime in why they agree or disagree, and then debate. I think something like this would go a lot better than Hootie's Draft King shit I wasted $100 on. I currently only have one YOLO portfolio that I'm treating like a casino, but a more legit portfolio would be nice to have to supplement it. May be a good distraction during the offseason.

Would any of you be interested in something like that?

To be more clear, I didn't mean we all chip in and set up one portfolio that we all divide profits on at a predetermined end. Basically a virtual portfolio that we all create our own version of and spend as much or little as we can afford.

Nah, the play would probably be just stick it all in SPY or something. The gambling shit is fun and Spurs talk but legitimate more risk averse investing is boring.
