So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

Your and idiot.

Relying on old information and Adam Teicher.

Paying attention only to sacks and tackles for a DL (pressures. That's what you should be looking at, and an area where Kpassagnon was respectable).

The Chiefs will enter 2020 with two studs at 4 positions on the DL (Clark and Jones). What they need to pair with that are rotational pieces that all do their job. Pennel and Nnadi fit that bill as strong run defenders. Khalen Saunders has a load of potential as an interior rusher and playmaker. And then they have at least 3 bodies they can throw at the other DE spot, two of whom were productive in a rotational role a year ago (Okafor and Kpassagnon).

It's a very talented DL group. Really, the only group on D that can compare in terms of depth and proven productivity is S, and that group includes a guy returning from a torn ACL, so it's a notch behind.

If Epenesa fell would you take him at 32?

I don’t think they should of course if a top LB or CB is available

I’d be happy with it, but also like to see a trade down for more picks.

But what about if Ruiz is still available?

I’m very excited about our first draft as champions. After last year, I will be very happy regardless of pick or position. I am just hopeful for a player that can make a big impact right away and improve an already Super Bowl team

I just watched some people say that Swift is Dalvin Cook/DeAngelo Williams in their comparisons......yea that's worth 32.

Epenesa seems like a perfect fit for this defensive system and would be hard for me to pass up if they stay at 32 and Queen, Murray, and Fulton are all gone, as well as Swift, Dobbins, and all the WRs worthy of that draft slot.

He isn’t a workout warrior, but he’s a really productive player.

I would take Epenesa over Ruiz, I think... but wouldn’t complain either way.

Not panicking either. Just stating we have a few holes or question marks and only having 5 picks means we need to hit or go into next season with the same problem.

Our defense of course has more holes.

We’re a top 3 team already with no draft. I don’t know what defense you watched last season, but we’re already a balanced football team.

Why are these GM’s scared of ****ing up this draft? Even with this situation, this is the best draft in quite a few years. There’s still a ton of excellent clean prospects that should be easy to find.

Just looking at our division...Telesco and Veach have good track records and the Raiders/Broncos have a lot of early picks.

Hard to see the division, or really any team **** up too badly. Now Bill O’Brien on the other hand

People should also consider that Spags experimented a lot with kicking Jones out to end in certain rotations/situations. It wasn't successful early in the season, but there were lots of things about the Chiefs defense early in the season that didn't work. Spags went away from it as the season progressed, but now that the defense is stabilized, I'd expect that to be a wrinkle the Chiefs try to continue working on and perfecting.

Between Kpass, Jones, Speaks, and Okafor (you know... our original starter) I think we've got the snaps at the other DE position covered pretty well.

And DT... shit, I don't want to hear anything about our DTs. Even if Jones moves over for a snap or two, you can make something work easily with Nnadi, Pennel, and Saunders. Hell, I was fine with trading Jones only because Saunders is going to be poised to bust out and rape faces, I think.

I disagree. We have a top offense for sure, and a top 10 defense thanks to the last 5 games of season.

But the first 11 games our defense wasn’t that good. After going 3 weeks straight of allowing 30 points a game, they got their stuff together after week 11 for sure.

I think the defense has serious question marks, but they may be easily answered and can vastly improve with a good draft and bringing in some good pick ups.

If they can play like they did the back part of the season, through 16 games, then of course they would be rated a lot higher. But there are legit questions there.

Of course with Mahomes we will be a top ranked offense. C/G and RB are biggest weakness or questions on offense. Backup TE and WR will also want to be addressed on offense as well.

Regardless, they should have some great competition at some key spots.

Lack of information, the NFL works on the theory they must know every single thing.
