So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

Just to add in here in reference to Cam Dantzler taking his 40 time from 4.6 to 4.3, apparently there's stuff going around teams do no trust any of these pro day workouts at all. So don't expect any kind of big jumps from what someone does on a proday, going to have to trust tape and your eyes to make some savvy picks this year.

All these workouts are being run by the players personal trainer whos job it is to promote and hype them, how hard would it be for them to stop a watch a click early to make a dude look insanely fast?

This was a new 7 rd mock from Dane Brugler this morning. Veach will absolutely be working the phones for a trade down and I’d take it even if it wasn’t a great deal (3rd rd pick). Look at this. If the board went this way, I’d trade down even if I only got a single 4th rd pick.

*Brugler has us taking Jaylon Johnson

33. Cincinnati Bengals – Josh Jones, OT, Houston
34. Indianapolis Colts (from WAS) – Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
There is a good chance a team trades into the first round to draft Love, but that could be the Colts or he could fall to them in the second round, giving the organization a quarterback succession plan for the future.

35. Detroit Lions – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
36. New York Giants – A.J. Epenesa, Edge, Iowa
37. Los Angeles Chargers – Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
38. Carolina Panthers – Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
39. Miami Dolphins – Xavier McKinney, DS, Alabama
40. Houston Texans (from ARI) – Ross Blacklock, DT, TCU
41. Cleveland Browns – Jeremy Chinn, DS, Southern Illinois
42. Jacksonville Jaguars – Grant Delpit, DS, LSU
43. Chicago Bears (from LVR) – Lloyd Cushenberry, iOL, LSU
44. Indianapolis Colts – Michael Pittman, WR, USC
Of all the picks in this mock draft, this might be my favorite fit. The Colts are looking for players with high football character and Pittman also fits the mold of the power forward receiver who can outrebound the football downfield.

45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
46. Denver Broncos – Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Auburn
47. Atlanta Falcons – Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri
48. New York Jets – Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
49. Pittsburgh Steelers – Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
50. Chicago Bears – Curtis Weaver, Edge, Boise State

I can't see a scenario where

Jones
Fulton
Epenesa
Love

Are all still there in the second, especially with those safeties there, who the hell does he have in the 1st that no one else does?

If I’m Indy....I’m trading up to 32 instead of 34 to get that 5th year option.

Also considering the athletic is free right now, just post the mock.

If someone wants to sell me on Jaylon Johnson in the 1st, it's the 49ers, he fits what they do there.

What? He’s a press man corner. He’s a better fit in KC than SF.

I think he's a zone guy at the NFL level, he's big and kinda stiff without great speed.

The fit is fine. The athletic profile is not. If we are spending a 1st round pick on a CB he better be a match up beast.

We can find guys like Jaylon in the 3rd or 4th round..no need to reach for perceived need.

Bad take IMO. He doesn’t have great speed, but it’s good enough. I also don’t agree that he’s stiff.

Pretty much everybody has him as a press man corner only, so you’re absolutely in the minority here.

Lol no. Jaylon showed the ability to cover quick/fast guys like Aiyuk all the way to guys with great size like Hodgins.

Guys like Jaylon Johnson don’t go in the 3rd/4th round dude

Ok, I mean that's fine, I think he's a good fit for the cover 3 press bail, hence the 49ers. And I certainly wouldn't draft him over a bunch of those guys listed after him either, he's one of those guys I'm not a huge fan of.

I'm a bigger fan of what guys like Gladney and Fulton bring even though they're all rated similar.

I could see Jaylon Johnson dropping pretty far simply bc of his surgery in March to repair a torn labrum.

Medicals are up in the air and not being able to have your own Dr’s give him a physical and look at that shoulder, your risk is higher.

I think what Daniel Jeremiah said on NFLN the other day is true: GM’s are going to try to draft the cleanest prospects they can as early as they can bc they are too worried about this situation and not getting enough information.

He got beat by Vaughn USC..their 3rd best WR.

Plays high in his stance, feet are stumble prone.

Not teribly strong.

Looks like a 3rd rounder that a desperate team might reach for in the late 2nd.
