So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

I like Ruiz in the 1st. I like Cushenberry even more. Think Cush could be a Pro-Bowler.

And just like Burrow improved from last season, his center also did and played a huge role on that LSU offense.

You figure that there are the following numbers going in the first round.

5-6 OT
4 QB
4-5 WR
4-5 CB
2-3 LB
2-3 S
1-2 IOL
6-7 DL

The unknown is the RB position. Could be one. Could be a couple. It’s hard to gauge.

I don’t see Cleveland or Peart going in the 1st, but if one does that just means Wilson or Jackson don’t.

I’ve done quite a few mocks and it just seems very unrealistic that that many OT’s will go in the 1st. The demand, while high, isn’t quite at that level. You’re talking about quite a few huge reaches.

He's a little bit better at picking up blitzes, Swift is much more athletically gifted though.

Veach is going to have to control Andy Reid in this draft. Ezra Cleveland is exactly what Andy Reid loves. Josh Jones is also another guy that fits Andy’s style with OL. You never see a tackle like that just sitting there at the end of the first.

That’s not even counting the receivers. I mean holy shit man if Aiyuk is still there, which is very possible, Andy might call the teams IT pro, have them disconnect Veach’s zoom connection and just call that pick in.

I don't like Aiyuk, he's really raw and unless you design plays for him he's going to struggle.

I try to watch the "x player vs" stuff on youtube and get to see his not-so-good downs.

I see a guy who often goes down with the first defender, doesn't have a lot of power or burst in his game. His ability to "get up and go" from a stop isn't great. I don't see anything elite there, really.

He's a guy that, imo, needs space to operate. He doesn't create much on his own.

Don't get me wrong, i think he'd be a good addition to any team and i'd love to have him. I also think the Chiefs can take any RB and make him a star, so there's that.

I just dont think he's going in the 1st round.

He's going to be another "oh i can't believe he's still on the board" day 2 pick.

He's not a bad player, i just don't think he's feature RB worth spending a 1st on.

I am not a huge fan of going RB in the first. I am coming around to being ok with it if Veach and Reid believe in it though. That long run in the Auburn game was outstanding setting up those blocks down field.

Having signed Breeland I would be much more ok with it than I would have been before that signing. That said, I would still prefer Akers, Moss, CEH, Dobbins, Warren II or McFarland 1-3 rounds later.

Pretty sure most of us do that...

He’s definitely not a physical runner by any means, but he does have good contact balance and that’s enough for me. I love his agility and quick-cut ability. The guy sticks his foot in the ground and cuts on a dime. Playing in an offense like ours that can take full advantage of his upside as a receiver and get him in space is what also makes him intriguing. I don’t think he’s an All-Pro caliber player, but he would be a top 5-8 RB in this offense. When you factor in positional value, I still think he’s a borderline top 32 player and would be a solid pick at 32.
