Life Anybody notice an uptick in scam calls during the Coronavirus crap?

I'm getting several a day, sometimes 2 an hour. Also, what the **** is the point of blocking a # if they can still leave you a voicemail?

The people behind these should be put up against the wall.

If I dont recognize the inbound number, I don't answer my phone anymore.

I haven't necessarily noticed an uptick, but I sure get annoyed by the volume I get. I wish all of those people would get a doorknob shoved in their mouth.

For some reason our caller ID at work has started identifying them, and it'll say things like "Spam Caller". I think an employee mentioned one coming in and the caller ID said "Illegal Scam" or some such thing. I appreciate that.

We had some foreign scummy company that called us multiple times a week for a while. We probably got 40 or 50 calls from them. They would lie and say they were calling about a project to try to get different people on the phone, so I presume they'd looked at our web site to identify prospects. I don't think they were a scam, but they were just a very aggressive company that wanted us to hire them. One day near the holidays, I was the only person in the office and they called yet again. With the advantage of having no coworkers to overhear, I unleashed every bit of anger I have about the world on that woman. I let her have it nonstop for about three minutes in the manner of US Marines on Okinawa spraying a flame thrower into a cave. They haven't called since.

In late January, I'd had enough and activated Nomorobo and since then, I've had two robo calls slip through.

As someone who works from home, I finally have back my peace of mind, as the calls were non-stop.
