Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I don't buy it. He's a terrible fit for our offensive line scheme.

Unless he’s a bargain, we won’t be signing him I doubt...

Veach and Andy can find productive RBs in the mid to late rounds of the draft.

And the money for said player will come from?...

Wait a minute, wait for it...

"Bret Veach will balance the books and get the Chiefs a fair deal for LeVeon Be"-

(Like I could finish typing that sentence with a straight face or anything remotely resembling honest conviction...)

I don’t really want to, but if Veach was going after himat the grade deadline, it feels like he will when he’s available in the Spring.

I don't think the talk is true.

He really doesn't fit this offense at all.

Behind a big, mauling line? sure. This quick, pull, trap, misdirection line? Doesn't fit his style at all.

Yeah, he can't dance in the backfield for 30 seconds before he picks his hole here. Would be a complete waste. I'd rather draft JK Dobbins, Swift, or Taylor in the first (and I'm no fan of drafting a RB in the first).

Damian Williams is basically a poor man's Le'Veon Bell, and he struggles mightily behind our Oline of Pure AIDS.

You make a good point in that with all the injuries up front, it wouldn't matter if you had Walter Payton in his prime, we're going to be inconsistent running. When healthy, the line is serviceable.

Stylistically, and I said it all offseason, Bell is not a good fit here. He's a good back, but he requires a certain kind of line play to take advantage of his patience and vision. Those are his elite traits.

With our style of offensive line, quickness is the premium trait, vision next to spot the cut-back lanes. And of course you must be an excellent receiver and blocker as well.

Damien does not have elite vision, but is solid in the other areas. Shady's great other than the fumbles. I think Darrel might soon be the best back. And I like Darwin's speed and heart.

I feel bad for Darwin. Every time he gets a touch it’s at the worst possible time. There are always multiple defenders on his ass instantly.

He doesn’t have Jamaal Charles’ elite ability to miraculously get past them into open space, so they end up being losses, and he ends up looking like shit and somebody we shouldn’t trust.

That’s horseshit, and I wish Andy would try to get him involved just a bit more.

Need to use him on designed screen plays. I think he would be a huge threat out in the flats.
