Chiefs defensive improvements after eight games

Chiefs have made strides. We just need to keep getting a little better and get healthy. Flame away.

This. Plus I'd like to see what is the TOP comparison.

There is improvement over last year. You can definitely see that. But it's still not good enough.

Yep. And never saw the ball again...Packer game - rinse / repeat. Played not to lose, instead of to win, and got the same result.

We lost to the Packers without several key players, a missed easy FG, a horrible fumble, a Matt Moore overthrew missed TD to Kelce and 2 insane catches by the Packers.

If Pat played that game healthy, we win.

Do you know what our team would have done if we were as healthy as them with Pat, Fish, Clark and Jones back? We would have piss pounded their ass into the dirt.

This team has lost games bc of our best players being injured. The same circumstances apply to every NFL team except the Pats who play a college schedule this season.

Yeah, some of this is coaching decisions. I sure hope that if the offense gets healthy, Reid will be more aggressive in tight games against good QB's in regards to not punting in 4th and short situations, etc.

I think it's clear our defense is better than last year, but I'm not confident they're good enough to get a game winning stop against a good QB in the playoffs.

You're probably right, BUT that's not the point. The point is that the decision to punt at the end was still the same as the Texans game, and it was a bad one in my opinion. One would think that since Reid made the same decision two weeks prior, and it proved to be wrong, that he would not make the same mistake again.

Rational post: The defense is improved and getting more solid each week despite having massive injuries.

CP-They're not the '85 Bears. Everybody sucks, fire Veach and Reid.

I see the defense improving in certain areas. That said, I still stick to what I said. They need to get off the field at the end of the game. The Indy game looked more like the Pitt playoff game to me. Held teams to field goals, offense sputtered, defense still gave up 9 minute drives to close out the game.

Points matter, possessions matter more for this team.

I've seen this movie before...if we have any chance of making a Super Bowl we are going to need to play from ahead every game or the defense is going to have to go out and get a key stop. That's a heavy lift.

It's been eight games. Brand new scheme, brand new players. You have to let it all come together. At least they aren't getting ****ing destroyed by deep passes this year.

This could be argued all day long but I agree with the decision. If we had failed to gain the three yards and a first down then it was a short distance for Rogers to get to field goal and make it a 2 score game. Then it would be game over and I know thats what Andy had to be thinking.

Our defense should have done their job.

They still would have needed a couple of first downs to make it a gimmie FG and a few first downs sealed the deal anyway. Lose by 7, lose by 10. Does it matter? You don't take the ball away from the strength of your team to rely on the gassed question mark for your team and in the process give it to one of the best QBs in the game. It was a bad call.

Yes, it was also 4th and 13 in the Texans game vs. 4th and 3. I also said a "healthy" Mahomes. It's just my opinion. Reid does some funky things at times, but the flow of that game I think he would have gone for it with Mahomes.
