Yeah Saunders and Thornhill have been playing good the last few weeks. I just dont see why we cant do what teams have done to our defense. Play some ball control, take shots now and then, break big plays. If the Pats play that stupid ass cover 0 we have like 10 guys Pat can dump it to for 5 years and take it to the end zone. I think our defense can get a few stops on them but man if we get into another game where were gunning for 40 to win I just dont see it.

You suggest that our DL should've played at the same high level for the entire game, when there were only 6 of them total available. No DL unit of 5 guys can do that, except in a video game.

When people sit there and refuse to give the Chiefs defense credit for performing well against Denver because they have a terrible offense i find it interesting. Their offensive DVOA is ranked 25th right now its on par with the best offenses New England has played this year.

Look at the DVOA rankings for NE’s opponents.

Pit -23
Mia - 31
NYJ - 32
Buf - 24
Wsh - 30
NYG - 22
NYJ - 32
Cle - 26

I know that the Pats defense is great and all but the Chiefs ACTUALLY might be leading the league in total defense if they played the trash NE has so far. Given what we saw against Denver, i might bet on it.

The safety play is night and day. Thornhill doesn’t have a ton of stats but we aren’t getting burned deep near as much and he’s a big part of that.

We also have a deeper DL. Saunders looks like he has real potential and he’s replacing Xavier Williams. Tanoh is finally making plays and Ogbah has been a great 3rd DE.

I feel like this defense is a cover backer away from being above average.

As many have said, the secondary is better than it has been and the run defense the past few weeks is passable. Just can't cover guys in the pass game from our LB's.

Watching our LB's and guys like Sorenson run around like chickens with their heads cut off in zone is sad and almost hilarious.

The biggest difference that I see in the defense from last year us the safeties. What is the strongest position on our team this year? I would say that it's the safeties. What was our weakest position group last year? Again, the safeties. Now, if Veach can turn this year's weakest group, the linebackers, into a strong group, this defense will be pretty good. Unfortunately, that won't happen this season. But I bet that it is priority number 1 this off-season.

Nah I don’t think so

I think it’s just coming together though. They played their tits off the other night, just ran out of gas. If you put a healthy Clark and jones on that team, they could do some damage
