50 Beers to Try Before You Die
Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).
http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984 (CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"? How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

On a related note, and regarding their craft beer hating ownership, Josh Noel's (Chicago Tribune writer) new-ish book, "Barrel-Aged Stout and Selling Out" is a decent and easy read. He had access to John Hall (Goose founder) and basically wrote the Goose Island story which includes the history of Bourbon County, but also with a parallel story of Anheuser-Busch's attempts to kill off craft beer. It's a really interesting look back at the craft beer landscape as a whole in the 90's, which I was oblivious to. It's recommended even if you're not interested in the craft/big beer storyline, but just like reading about beer and key moments in beer history. |

Haha, yeah. I told my wife I'm showing up when it starts at 5pm today and staying until they tap the '14 Weller. So with my luck that will be the last keg tapped on Saturday night.

Haha, very true. However, stouts are really the only beers my wife drinks so she was there with me. She's convinced herself that she's allergic to hops not knowing that stouts are hopped as well. It's kind of funny.
Anyway, I didn't have to stay all night as 2014 Weller was on the 2nd time I passed through the line. I had it side by side with 2015 Rare as Goose lets you double fist, and it was my favorite beer of the night. I had heard there was a Weller aged BCS but I assumed it was just a myth, a bedtime story told by Ditka looking dads to their sons and daughters who were born with facial hair. However, it does exist and I drank it. Kind of hard to see, but lower left on the screen. Also notice how I'm up at 5:30am CT on a Saturday to handle my bidness. ![]() |

Wow that beer would have to start around a 1.20 OG to finish that high and still be 15%.
