***OFFICIAL Chiefs vs Chargers Game Day Thread***

At long last, an incomparable and unparalleled day is upon us, Planeteers.

The Patrick Mahomes II Era begins with this game. May the Bolts fizzle and sputter as expected and may the New Chiefs begin their rise to greatness in dramatic fashion.

In lieu of a bunch of secret spoiler deals, I have composed a brief poetism in honor of the occasion. May it meet with your approval. Ahem ...

There once was a kid named Mahomes
Who had truly unique chromosomes
The Bolts were aghast
When the Chiefs scored so fast
And Mahomes incapacitated their ohms

There you have it, Planeteers. Go Chiefs!

(Sorry if re-post.)

Scrandrip should be cut. He embarrassed the defense out there.

He can't press the receiver at the line, looks slow, gave minimal effort once he was burned, bites on the first fake.

I want Veech to cut him to send a message to the others- do your job or look for a new one.

Maybe, maybe not. The offense wouldn't have curled up into a ball in the 4th quarter had we NEEDED to score.

I think it would have been a last team to have the ball wins type of game. Thankfully, though, Chargers gonna Charger.

Guess we will never know. And I don't really want to find out.

Hell, I even bought in a little bit, but I can't believe people were pumping the Chargers and Anthony Lynn again this offseason.

They threw it 50 times yesterday. That's pretty impressive.

There you have it, Planeteers. Go Chiefs!

(Sorry if re-post.)
Your Quatrain predicted the future- even if it did have 5 lines!

I knew it would be great mojo having you start the Game Thread. You should keep the magic rolling and do the Steelers too!

Sometimes I think there are fans that think we should just be able to field an all pro at every spot and if we don't they should be cut.

So a player like Scrandrip, who was marginal at best his entire career, and has looked like shit in practice and preseason- then is solely responsible for half the Chargers points by being burned on simple head fakes- Should not be cut?

Its called Next Man Up. There is zero upside at all keeping him and letting other teams scorch him every game for easy-peasy Td's.

Worse? Possibly. Young and lacking experience? Definitely.

A problem you risk though is if you play dudes before they are ready like say you put Tremon Smith out there. Some dudes never recover from getting beat, Marcus Cooper had it happen.

Old and Slow. Never should have been signed. Horrible in the preseason, shitty in practice, gave up 2 TD's where he was faked out of his jock and then gave minimal effort to catch up.

How could it get worse?

At least there is an upside playing one of our rookies- they might learn and get better. Srandrip is the worst CB since Gaines- as a matter of fact, Gaines sucked but was at least faster.

Can we really be a playoff team when 1 player is giving up 2 easy TD's a game and 150 plus yards of offense? No!

Had he not been signed you'd be watching David Amerson, want that?
