***OFFICIAL Chiefs vs Chargers Game Day Thread***

At long last, an incomparable and unparalleled day is upon us, Planeteers.

The Patrick Mahomes II Era begins with this game. May the Bolts fizzle and sputter as expected and may the New Chiefs begin their rise to greatness in dramatic fashion.

In lieu of a bunch of secret spoiler deals, I have composed a brief poetism in honor of the occasion. May it meet with your approval. Ahem ...

There once was a kid named Mahomes
Who had truly unique chromosomes
The Bolts were aghast
When the Chiefs scored so fast
And Mahomes incapacitated their ohms

There you have it, Planeteers. Go Chiefs!

(Sorry if re-post.)

I haven't re-watched the play yet, but ...

On the second jet TD (the one to #10), it appeared to me that, as Hunt was going right and Hill was jetting left, Mahomes pitched the ball to Hill in FRONT of Hunt. It almost seemed like Mahomes handed the ball to Hunt who then just passed it along to Hill.

Did you guys see that?

In other words, how could a defense possibly know where the ball was since it passed in FRONT of Hunt going the opposite direction.

I don't think I've ever seen that (or I saw it wrong).

You guys have to see this ... I think it might have been a half-busted play, actually.

It occurred at 9:47 in the 4th (jet right to Hill).

If I knew how to post a cut-down, I would. Maybe we were just lucky today, but that was a weird play design. I hope that Mr. GoChiefs or someone can post it.

What bothers me is that he seemed to give up on plays early ... real early for him. Engaged the blocker, then just stood there while the play went around him. Very unusual behavior.

Was he pacing himself? Does he have the flu? Does Kelce?

There was something very strange about this game.

The All-22 still isn't up, but it will be worth examining, I'm sure.

It was really hot for a pro football game and our defense was getting roasted like a cheap hot dog left on the roller thing for too long at the 7-11.

Our defense was out on the field a long time, everyone along both sides of the los were giving their all. The ol and dl for both teams played really hard, Gordon, Allen, Rivers all balled out. The chargers don't suck on either side of the ball, they're a really good team. Mahomes and Hill beat them today.

Honestly, they probably told houston to take it easy b\c of the heat if we got any kind of lead/want to save him. There's less risk, and hopefully his production has more significance if he maximizes his effort later in the season. He's a 10-15 sack guy at this point in his career unless there are some significant ot injuries to his divisional opponents.

Yeah, calling bs on that. Houston will be lucky to reach 7-8 sacks this year.

Seems it's designed that way. Damn risky play requiring absolute precision.

I think that’s the play mentioned in the article posted a bit ago.
