In a game the Chiefs lost by six points, Alex Smith missed three wide open TDs

And yes he had a clean pocket on the second one.

When has this happened before...against the Steelers...in a crucial game....

Spoiler!

Flame away.

D's job is to get the ball back to the O, preferably with no points. They did well on the later. Just took way too long to do it. TOP was whack.

They weren't afforded the time to get things clicking. Gameplan was toast early. Two more minutes and we win that damned game.

The offense had negative yards in the first half

The defense wasn't good but it wasn't as bad as advertised

Hammock and others...you sound like you believe other players, including Ben, or Brady, or...don't miss open receivers. Would you at least agree that they do too? I watch multiple games every weekend and I seem to recall every single QB missing receivers, open or not. Not saying this to give Alex a pass...just it feels sometimes that these threads have a tenor of "Alex better be perfect or die."

**** off. If he hits just one of those four passes the Chiefs probably win the game.

Ben and Brady don't miss wide open TDs/receivers like that multiple times in a game. Because they can actually read a defense.

When Alex goes deep, 9 times out of 10 it's a predetermined read. That's why he threw that ill-advised pass to Hill. Tunnel vision.

It's just one game.

And who knows how it would have ended if Hill hadn't been knocked out of it for that final drive...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

What do you mean it was not as bad as advertised? Our D was pretty damn bad. Gave up way too many rush yds and let their offense dominate Time Of Possession. Bell had like a 100-yds at halftime. Other than this game, he has had one 100-yd game this season. Browns held Bell to 32-yds rushing in wk 1.

As far as stopping the run it was one of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen. Offensive was equally bad the first-half. Again, lucky the gm was not a blowout.
