In a game the Chiefs lost by six points, Alex Smith missed three wide open TDs

And yes he had a clean pocket on the second one.

When has this happened before...against the Steelers...in a crucial game....

Spoiler!

Flame away.

But can anyone name from memory the 5 number one draft picks that protect Tom Terrific, State Farm Rodgers (not really valid after yesterday) or Shorty McBrees? No. Everybody looks great standing in the pocket reading the USA Today, lighting a Camel no filter and then launching. But even those guys HAVE to on occasion take a few confident steps left or right then throw with a minor degree of accuracy. Alice cannot do it. In 5 seasons he hasnt been able to. It wont get better with age. He is a decent man who says and does all the right things. He is also a 11-5/10-6 QB who urinates down his leg when the chips are pushed to the middle. The first five games may have been the exception, not the all too familiar norm. His time is over for me. I'm ready for 8-8 and a wild card win, not another 12-4, bye, embarassing loss at home.
the more bad losses for Alex, the more hater 49ers fans will be registering here under false identities to join the Smith-hating circle jerk. Enjoy!

Was the Steelers game yesterday a January game? I can only play where you set the current goal posts.

I think the problem is Smith's accuracy comes and goes. He knows it too. So in close games or when we have the lead, and he's not feeling it (like the Chargers game), he refuses to even look deep. Unfortunately yesterday he had to air it out on a bad accuracy day.

I've said many times that's its going to take a QB who is not afraid to go outside of Reid's constricting fence and just take the shots that are there. It's the kind of player that coaches get a little irked with, but they can not deny the end result.
Not necessarily a "rebel", but someone highly gifted that you just can't keep a leash on, no matter how hard you try. Eventually, a QB that with proven success can walk right up to the huddle, scrap what's coming in over the ear piece, and direct his own show if the situation requires it.

I believe Mahomes will be that QB.

And that qb won't be Andy Reid's qb for long. Just ask Mike Vick. If you're gonna play qb for Reid you're going to play in his structure. You don't know shit about football so it's not surprising you don't know this.

Or maybe....Chiefs fans who have tried desperately to give Alice a chance, again and again are ready to see something different. Not a hater. Just a...want to give someone else a chance..er. You feel me?

he gets hit a couple times and then starts overthrowing EVERYTHING, because he quits stepping into the throw and then doesnt follow through...he doesnt have the arm strength to make up for it.
