By video, #Ware news seems to be better than #Edelman.
Good news: do not see ligament tear mechanism

There were times when we lost Jamaal in the past 5 years where I thought we were completely f**ked, and it wasn't the case at all.

I think Ware is a good player, but I just can't see this as a huge deal personally. The RB position is plug and play in this offense. The starters have always produced. It doesn't hurt that I think Hunt is going to be the better player anyway.

While it's always nice to have the best RB in the league, not only was Ware wasn't going to be that, I think most of us have come to understand that RB is one of the most replaceable "next man up" positions on the field. Not to diminish what a great RB can bring to the team, I just agree with the folks who seem to be suggesting that the talent and ability gap between the league's best and average RBs is very small. I'll also say that while most of the players are probably around the same ability point, perhaps the team's system plays into their relative success.

Look at Denver's 1-cut-and-go system... Almost every RB was successful in that system. Add some unethical blocking techniques the Donks all but perfected, and their system was all the more effective as other team's defensive players were simply trying to survive those meant-to-maim techniques.

So let's hope I'm right and "the next man up" can be something closer to JC in his pre-knee days.

This really sucks because the Ware/Hunt duo looked extremely effective. 2 complete backs who could move the pile with physicality, block and be good receivers. I was very excited to have them both rotate and stay fresh for the long haul.

Now I'm worried that Hunt suffers the same wear-and-tear issue that Ware went through last year.

It's going to be tough to find a complete back like that now, but we'll see.

If he's healthy, I think the Chiefs should sign Ryan Mathews.

8 rushing TD's last year, 600+ yards, knows the system since he played for Pederson in Philly.

The Chiefs had issues last year with Red Zone and goal line rushing and Mathews could be the solution.

Matthews would be a good option. Always liked him just didn't seem to be able to stay healthy

I'm interested to see the cuts this next week though. Someone will likely shake loose

37 rushing TD's and 3 receiving TD's in the same time span as Spiller, who has 12 rushing TD's and 9 receiving TD's.

5,261 rushing yards vs. Spiller's 3,451.

But Mathews is always injured.

If the Chiefs claim someone off of waivers, that back had better have WCO experience or they're basically worthless in Reid's system.

I think that talent pool will be rather shallow.
