Not sure this is on the Chiefs at all. If Dorsey would not give Clark assurances that he'd honor his whole contract (I.e. Not leave for GB), then wouldn't that be on Dorsey?

Middlekauf said he had heard Reid and Dorsey weren't as close as some thought during the season

Clark says: Reid is the man behind the picks so why am I diking with Dorsey if he can't manage the $'s right and won't even commit to KC?
Reid gets handed full control
Dorsey gets fired
We're in the same boat we were yesterday, no Maclin, no Charles.

This cannot be ruled out and in Clark's eyes is probably viewed as a wash. If Reid was more of the man behind the talent and Dorsey was smoke and mirrors with it while ****ing up the $'s then yeah,....I see this happening.
I've thought that could be the case, too. But if Dorsey is just a glorified scout, he's a damn good one. It's still a big loss.

Please stop. Maclin and his respect bullshit is stupid. He's rich as hell was hardly KC legend. He's serviceable at best.

That's dumb. If you must pick between the two, Reid is a top five coach. Dorsey is a good GM that seems to bungle the cap.

The Packers are not going to bring him back with young guys waiting for their turn per reports.

Oh my God. I can see John's old colleague/friend from GB Reggie Jackson bring him in.

John Dorsey in Oakland? I'd just give up at that point.

Very confusing. I would have thought this was about green Bay. If it isn't, what the ****...

Very concerning. I'm most interested in why tons of personnel guys left, not just Dorsey. Either they didn't want to work for Dorsey or Clark didn't want them working for him. I tend to think it's the latter and if so, Holy shit.

I'd be shocked if he isn't a top candidate for gm. Can't see anyone reason to demote himself.

Per Ian Rapoport on NFL Network, it was due to inability to agree on an extension. He said that they had been negotiating an extension for several months but were unable to agree to terms and Clark decided to in another direction.
