The latest from Homerville, the Chiefs cut Maclin because they simply had too many offensive weapons.

He was also dealing with a serious groin injury which was more than likely the bigger negative impact on his performance.

I understand the cap prospective, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend I'm in some delusional world where this was a net positive from a personnel perspective. Maclin was a good receiver.

Tyreek Hill offset Maclin's drop in production in 2016. Hill and Conley will both likely have to produce more this season to offset the loss because I'm doubtful that a handful of rookies and a 2nd year guy that could only muster 4 snaps are going to do it. I don't think that's a huge stretch to expect 800 yards each out of Conley and Hill and 200 yards out of a rookie, but it still has to happen just to break even. We'll see how it transpires, but I'm certainly not jumping up and down about this transaction at the moment.

So it looks like every pass play KC will run next season is Hill on the fly, Kelce over the middle and everyone else on a check down.

I think Andy and John saw an injury prone receiver that couldn't justify his salary and knew we had the resources to make him expendable.

Conley was the 3rd WR last year and had about the same amount of yards as Maclin. Wilson had the same amount of TD's. It's a hell of a bargain to keep those 2 combine for $12 million less.

It was also interesting to hear our scout say that Chesson doesn't need much development bc he's knowledgeable of the game from his time at Michigan.
