Alex Smith: "I think [the Chiefs] are only committed to me through this year"

It's crazy that Alex fans dont see this. Trevor Siemian, a rookie, put up a season that looks very Alex like. Exponentially better than Alex's rookie year. But Trevor cant improve? As a Chiefs fan, I hope he doesnt. But even if he doesnt, the idea that Alex fans think Alex is so much better of a QB is just ridiculous.

Year 1: 3,401 yards, 7.0 YPA, 18 TDs, 10 INTs, 84.6 passer rating

Year 12: 3,502 yards, 7.16 YPA, 15 TDs, 8 INTs, 91.2 passer rating

If you took the names completely out of the equation, I dont know how anyone would take the 12th year player over the 1st. I really dont.

But to be fair you're also basing it off of a VERY small sample size.

It's the same mistake the 49ers made with Kap vs. Alex. One average season isn't enough to determine how a young QB will progress. It is just as likely that he regresses or remains stagnant.

Soon we will have something else in common, when you get to experience what we did -- the euphoric bliss of seeing them all leave to follow Alex elsewhere, with a return to rational and reasoned debate on the forum instead of incessant trolling and flame wars.
What a glorious day it will be.

And now that moron Tigger is posting his gay Alex underwater pics.

These people need an Auschwitz shower.

What happened to ignore?

Oh, that's right; you're full of shit and everything you post is useless garbage.

Can't wait 'till your boyfriend Smith is just another sad chapter in the completely forgettable pre-Mahomes Chiefs.

I'm still hoping Alex has a career year. This team is talented enough to go deep in the playoffs if he uses Mahomes as motivation.

Jeff Garcia's best season after turning 33 was 2700 yards and 18 TD.

Steve McNair's was 3000 and 16.

Jim Harbaugh's was 2,600 and 13.

Michael Vick was even worse.

Jake Plummer saw the writing on the wall and hung it up at 32.

Most running QBs don't last long in their mid 30s.

To detrimental effect.

He's not turning into Rich Gannon. He's fulfilling his destiny as a broken down scrambler who's passing will land him a backup job in his twilight years.
