How Excited or Not ..Are You??

The guys at work are kind of meh about the upcoming playoff game. They say if we play Pitt we will lose. Out of 3 people I talk to about our chances 2 out of 3 say we won't win at home!
I think more excitement will build when we know who we play. Personally I'm very excited and don't care who we play.. more worried about stopping the run and if Houstons knee is healthy enough for him to be a factor.

I'm excited about the game, even though about 75% of me expects a 1 and done.

I'm not excited about having to wait an extra week.

We'll roll whoever it is, IMHO. It may not end up looking like a blowout on the scoreboard, but I think they'll win handily and that's even if its Pittsburgh.

Before the SNF game at Heinz I said we had way too much going against us to win that one. I said the Raiders had too much going against them after our bye week. And for whoever plays us in the divisional round, I will have the same feelings.

Most expect 1 and done against the Steelers - can you blame them?

BUT, Pittsburgh is NOT the same team on the road. KC is capable of beating them. Will they? Tell you what, they're the ONLY team who will have a shot at doing just that on that particular day. That's WHY you PLAY the GAME!

I'm VERY excited about how the season played out, and for the chance to play a divisional playoff game at ARROWHEAD.

I posted it in Amno's thread.

I am GODDAMN EXCITED.

However, I am doing my best to divorce myself from any emotional attachment to the outcome. After the latest Indy debacle I just can't

I'm just trying to enjoy the ride.

My reasoning isn't necessarily because Steelers...

...it's because Chiefs. It's because Indy, Denver, Indy, Indy.

We've seen this all before. I know we will get fisted somehow, as usual. Therefore, nothing to get excited about.

I'm excited, yeah....but with our history, it's hard not to be cautious.

As a long-time fan, I've witnessed four 13-3 seasons for our Chiefs as the #1 seed with homefield through-out the playoffs, only to be let down--painfully in all four cases. I've become resigned, and less emotionally invested. Thus, my cautious optimism is tempered by that stark reality.

OTOH, I did just upgrade our TV to a 60-inch HD with sound bar--holy crap!

I was at the game the last time the Chiefs won a playoff game at Arrowhead-and of course we were huge underdogs in that game as well. Steeler's fans were loud and waving the yellow towels they would end up crying into later.

Did the Steelers beat both of last years Superbowl winners on the road this year- including beating the Donks twice? No that was the Chiefs. You can't Be the Champ until you Beat the Champ-and we did that twice this year and ended their season with an ! point!!!

I am not sure how a true Chiefs fan can't be excited about this year-it was amazing and this is a solid team in every phase of the game.

Chiefs will win this one-they will go up to shitboro and beat the cheating, ball deflating, over confident Pats and will mop up whatever team the NFC throws at us.

This is our year-we will shock the world.

Still feels too far away to get all that excited. I would imagine my excitement will grow incrementally as the days pass.

As to our chances? Better than they have ever been, under this regime. I'd dare a guess that says KC has a 70% chance at a SB game this season.

To imagine a healthy Houston, a rested Hali, and an improved Ford? To imagine a healthy Berry and JMac? a better pass pro OL than Smith has ever played behind? a freak rookie sensation at WR/PR named Tyreek Hill?

Other than injuries to those aforementioned, the only true concerns are in the run defense, CB depth, and interior run blocking... and those have all proven to NOT be killer deficiencies.
