Trading Down
It looks like there's a very good chance we're stuck in the rift of the first Rd when all the premier talent is gone.
IMO the draft could go a lot like this: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/04/24/n...er-king-trades IMO Lynch goes way higher and Kelly/Billings is off the board, but in this situation it looks like trading down is the best option. Of the prospects left on the board (again I think Kelly/Billings are gone), the best prospect available appears to be Josh Garnett. I think if we stayed at 28 he's the guy (Vonn Bell is appealing here as well). In this situation, do you trade down to the mid 30's if you can get a 4th Rd pick? |

AP had the patriots as a potential trade down partner. They would give up their 2 2nds for our #28. So we would have 3 consecutive picks in the 2nd. I honestly think I'd rather stay at #28. There is a pretty sizable drop off in talent there

I'm kind of leaning more towards a trade down from round 2 than from round 1. If a guy is there at the bottom of round 2, maybe a guy like Derrick Henry, I could see a team like Dallas coming up and grabbing him. A drop and swap, such as 59 and 126 for 67 and 101 plus a 2017 5th or something, would be good for the Chiefs. They'd have top picks in round 3 and 4 instead of late picks in 2 and 4, giving them that 3 in 100 type of draft scenario which I think works out well with the depth of this draft.
Give me this kind of draft: 1-028 - Vernon Butler, DT 3-067 - Kalan Reed, CB 4-101 - Leonte Carroo, WR I could live with that. |

I feel the same way. I also agree that Karl Joseph is an attractive pick here, and wouldn't mind trading back either. All are good options. BTW I think this was the best mock I've seen yet. |

I have no idea, but I know I personally have Apple behind Alexander and Jackson. I saw some "tape" that soured me a little on him.

I'm not buying it being a WR though. I think there's a possibility that the Chiefs can get one of the corners before Pittsburgh can get their hands on them.

If they don't view Conley or Albert W as strong threats (someone defenses have to frequently throw extra coverage at), and a WR prospect is available that they do feel can emerge as one.. it wouldn't surprise or disappoint.
I doubt they want to shake with fear again over any potential absence of Maclin. I agree with some/most? that there are not a lot of glaring needs for KC.. so a WR in rd 1 and CB in rd 2 could be the way to go.

4th rounders aren't worth shit. They're glorified UDFAs. We have more talent on this team from waivers amd flat out street FAs than from the 4th. This is just the most wrong-headed shit and it's rampant on this board.

Who you trading up for then? I'd guess one of the corners?
If Hargreaves gets to 13, I'd call the dolphins and see if theyd take Charles and 28 for 13 and another pick |

TJ Ward Gronk Daryl Washington Carlos Dunlap Sean Lee Golden Tate Lineal Joseph Antonio Brown Emmanuel Sanders NaVorro Bowman Redhead Jones Jimmy Graham Kam Chancellor Alterraun Verner Geno Atkins Aaron Hernandez Everson Griffin None of these guys were first round picks that year. If talent is spread out like this, why not have more chances instead of trying to use those resources to cash one lottery ticket?
