2014-2015 NBA off-season Lebron goes home thread.
I will update this when the schedule is announced in a couple of weeks, but I will open with the new uniforms for the Charlotte Hornets below.

It's a 25 player deal involving neither Wiggin Waiter or Bennett. Cavs give up 12 years of 1st and 2nd and Craig Ehlo/zillashack

That wasn't directed at you. I am commenting on how I've heard more questions about Blatt even before Lebron was signed than Derek Fisher and Jason Kidd (last year) combined. I don't get why people think a guy like Blatt is more of a risk than a guy who's never even assisted coached.

I have no idea why you're gunning at me in this thread or lumping me in with rustshack. I haven't proposed anything controversial this entire thread except that I'm not a huge fan of giving up Wiggins to get Love unless a prospect center is packaged in. |

Blatt's a risk because he will be the first to fall on the sword if anything goes wrong. Lebron loves/wants Calipari and the first sign of failure will open the door for that scenario.
Calipari has to regret not taking that deal, but he didn't know Lebron was going to go back to that shithole city/team so I don't blame him for not being the first chip to fall. |

LeBron was able to win with that coach in Miami. Hell he even made Mike Brown look good. Blatt won't have anything to worry about, especially with Lue helping him out who will probably be a HC himself here in a few years.

Blatt is who I wanted Cleveland to hire. Crazy that people haven't heard of him before LeBron. Shows how much basketball knowledge some people have.

But I would much rather have an experienced coach like that who has a bit of unknown than, say, Lionel Hollins or Byron Scott. Of course if we're comparing him to guys like Spoelstra or Doc Rivers, let alone Popovich, that's crazy talk right now. I would rather have an experienced coach in a different league than someone like Jason Kidd or Derek Fisher, who have never even assistant coached, let alone been a head coach. I just don't understand how a coach of his experience level is held under so much more scrutiny in a league where washed out veteran coaches still hop from team to team, and former players with no experience are landing an extraordinary amount of jobs. |
