The reason I have some pause at this point with this group and this offense is that it's all been self inflicted. It's not been a talent issue, it's been a shoot ourselves in the foot thing.

THey've had flashes where they've moved the ball up and down the field.

This is just an observation...but man the Vikings really are great at investing in top-tier college wide outs... Addison looks legit, obviously Jefferson and Diggs before that... I'm envious in how they invest premium picks that turn out for them.

I had high hopes for him but he definitely seems to be playing himself into an inactive status.

Even if he wasn't making the WR rotation (which I felt was unlikely) he seemed to be able to ensure gameday status by being a dedicated return man. But if he's gonna go all Moore back there fumbling punts and just looking generally ineffective, he doesn't really bring anything to the party.

It's fairly frustrating that our "STs Ace" coach can't find a way to develop a viable punt returner over the last couple years.

Yea, it's the fact that a discussion is taking place and not people saying that if we don't trade for a WR that we can't win a SB. Or that the Chiefs might actually field an offense that will only score 18 PPG for the ROS.

Are we intentionally trying to spread targets out amongst our wide receivers? The first game felt like it. Less so in the second. It's very evenly spread so far. Kelce will run away with the most targets as we play more games, but it's anyone's guess for the number 2 spot. Probably Toney, if he can stay on the field.

CEH is the big miss that is killer. Mecole produced about at an average 2nd round WR level.

They just won a SB and had one of the best offensive output seasons in the history of the NFL. If you don't trust this regime at this point.......it sounds like that's a you problem.

So there it is again. Nobody’s saying you can’t trust them or that veach sucks. And just because we won a Super Bowl with a great offense doesn’t mean they’re beyond reproach. But we can acknowledge that our recent track record on offensive recruiting hasn’t been great.

We won in spite of clear deficiencies on offense talent wise. We have three GOATs who mask that really really well. So because we won a Super Bowl we didn’t need to address the OT situation? No. They are important positions and we whiffed. Arguably we didn’t do great at addressing it this offseason either. We will continue to find ways of masking it but it’s fair to question if we did it effectively. I don’t know why you can’t say the same for WRs.

And it’s been a matter of missing on several big swings. But also, sorry, while you like to suggest we’ve thrown resources at this in every way we are easily on the bottom part of the league in terms of how much draft capital we pump into our offense.
