Is Carruthers wearing that watch?

Or perhaps he always knows what time it is without needing to look?

LOL, but I wear a Timex Ironman. It never comes off. I'm in and out of creeks, fields, rivers, the woods, garden, etc. I have a Rolex my dad had but I'm afraid to scratch it up or break it or something

I second all of this... While I where a Garmin Mk3i as my primary dive computer and my day watch, and use my Garmin Mk2i as my backup dive computer, I use a brand of computer named "Ratio" for more technical diving, it's also nice to know there are other timepiece buffs out there who know what a tourbillon is..

Apple makes great products, but there is no innovation. My laptop, watch, and iphone are basically the same as previous versions from 3 years ago.

That’s definitely an issue with them. The closest thing they have to “innovating” is the Vision Pro which was an awful idea and an even more awful cost.

And they still had a higher PE ratio than a bunch of established large cap companies that are rolling out new products.

They are indeed the foshizzle for diving. Outside of all the BS you get from "but we're better at this and that" others offer, Garmin is what you can wear 24x7x365 and pretty-much want for no feature others offer. That said, Garmin might need to figure out how Suunto (Ocean) has figured out how to give a 3D map of a dive, but it's still not got all the other features of the Garmin, but that's a cool feature. Again, when I'm diving into the abyss, I dive a Ratio computers, but at my age that doesn't happen as often as it used to.

But Garmin is the foshizzle to say the least and has rendered sooooo many of my other time pieces, well, display pieces..

All good, I'm happy to have them all and wear them when I feal like it..

That's incredible! I just googled 3-d dive maps nad the fact you can see them on a watch is phenomenal. I lived on Roatan for a few years, I'm sure you've dived down there...

Five trips there since 2020, it's a gem. Mrs. GloryDayz and I will be back there in July so I'm hoping the reefs have continued their recovery as I saw last time I was there last April.

And I'm not sure how Suunto is achieving their 3D mapping (Dive Route) <- click that link, but another diver was diving the Suunto Ocean in Fiji last month, and it was way cool. Garmin gives you entry and exit GPS locations, and obviously a depth/time profile, but to topological map is freaking cool.

Clearly I prefer the Garmin offerings in the Mk3i (and the older Mk2i) because I can use it for all recreation dives and many less challenging technical dives, but Suunto has up'd the challenge to Garmin for route mapping.

And yeah, while Bonaire is still my favorite and go-to caribbean island, and Cozumel is an easy in/out for quick and/or training trips, I still love me some Roatan and Utila.
